I would suggest that you are missing out on 9/10 of the Godox product line. The Godox system works well with off camera flash. Godox makes a controller and you can have multiple flashes going off. It’s not all that difficult and is fun to do. Add a few soft boxes and you may find a whole new aspect of this hobby.

The down side is the menu system for Godox is wonky. I have to refamiliarize myself periodically.

For fun look up the grey card method of flash with Tim Payne on YouTube.

Thanks for the input. I kind of figured there was a lot of room for growth with the brand should I get more interested in lighting. For right now, it answers my need for easy with iTTL and zoom in an up to date package and looks like a lot of flash for a very low price tag. (...and a place to use all the rechargeable AA batteries I've accumulated.) I think it will ship tomorrow.

I just told Copilot to tell me the total cost of a $6,000 loan paid off in five years. The number is (drum roll) *$11,500*. As you can see, borrowing money at 30% is a win / lose situation with any high interest rate credit card like Payboo. The bank is the winner, you're the loser. It's a loan of last resort.

Commenity bank = TX, what else can I say?

What else? Maybe more explanation. Bread Financial is headquartered in Ohio and Comenity Bank is headquartered in Deleware. What am I missing?

Both my Nikon SB800 and SB500 work just fine on my Z50. The 500 is sooh light and uses just 2 batteries instead of the
800's 5. But I'm partial to the older 800.

I was tempted by the SB 800 as MPB has several used ones in the $120 neighborhood that includes a three year extended warranty, but I decided on a new Godox since they are so affordable. Once I receive this one, I'm going to gather up all the old stuff to see if anything will play nicely with it and if not, sell them all. I know there are at least two Sigmas, a Bower, a Bolt and a couple of Nikons squirreled away.

You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong. Please go to the site, look up any camera, I just bought a Nikon Z9 and got 12 months no interest, NO SALES TAX.
Why do you persist on stating false information when it's obvious you are WRONG.
You could influence others away from using the Payboo card to purchase expensive equipment. Why would you do that?

That's not wrong... It depends on the amount of the purchase. I think over $199 qualifies for 6mo and over $599 gets you 12mo. (Unless it changed very recently.)

I have two brand new Godox 850s and they work fantastic. However, I always grab my SB 5000s as they are matched perfectly with the Z9 and D850. Plus I use the remote flash function with the Nikon radio attachment.

Good to hear more kudos for Godox. I've got a bunch of older flash laying around in here somewhere, but I don't think they'll talk to the Godox? My use of flash is restricted mostly to on camera fill and times of unexpected poor lighting, so the one I ordered should keep me amazed for awhile. Maybe it will motivated me to play more with flash?

All flashes run on batteries...either external or internal. All internal non removable are not what I would call proprietary...just an internal battery.

I doubt you could run the battery down in a single shoot...unless you don't know what you are doing (almost all mistakes are human error). I always travel with a power bank. You can charge it and shoot at the same time...cannot foresee someone getting into that kind of a bind.

To each his own, but that new Godox lacks for nothing...

So let's just say I'm one of those who don't know what they're doing and I run out of juice after using it for the 150 full power shots that Godox claims... I gotta wait two hours for a recharge (no matter the source of the recharge)? The one I bought allows me to continue, however poor my technique might be, by carrying a few AA's in my pocket (or using the optional power pack). Like you said, to each his own, but it's good to know you defend the brand.

I'd take a look at the new Lux Master Retro by Godox. And their new wireless commander...

I have the Godox Senior...and the Cadet...sent to me as promotional items...the senior is fantastic.

This new one looks awesome and is totally modern.

I have been sent the wireless commander to review...will be here any day...I expect it will also be a home run accessory.

Yeah, I saw the Retro Senior on Northrup's YouTube channel and it certainly has the cool factor, but the non-removable proprietary battery didn't fit my needs. I guess you run out of juice you're done till you recharge?

Thanks for the feedback! In these days of sellers buying their ratings etc, it's kind of tough to come up with a "should I or shouldn't I", but most of what I've read about the brand has been positive except for a weak point of attachment and some incompatibilies with the Z7... all of which are supposedly corrected in the Mark II version of the flash. I guess I can't go too far wrong with a one or two year (not sure which) manufacturers warranty and a B&H one year warranty, all with a $129 price tag.
