There is a software called DXO.Check it out . It is powerful but also very easy to use.
What might also help in the buffer response is that if you use a class 10 memory card it will help with buffer speeds.It's the small number in the circle on the card.
If you like your camera and it works for you then master it and it will reward you.
I recently moved up from a 7 year old dslr but it still takes great pics.
