I have no option to reshoot this photo. I really messed it up with miserable focus. I hate to give up on it but have tried all kinds of editing without getting happy with it. Anyone have good ideas?

pretty hard to tell from this little image how bad it is, but it doesn't look irreparably bad. the sky sucks, but sometimes you just have to take what mother nature gives you... can you post a larger version?

sometimes when i have a photo I hate I crop in real close in different areas and try to find a different take on it. maybe going in close to the open door and wood will give you a whole new photo and perspective.
give it a try . you may be surprised at what pops out at you

This is a reduced size version. The original size one is somewhere on a disc and I hope to come across it someday. :roll:

Perhaps running a high pass over it may suit your needs, I kinda like the softer version myself.

convert the photo in your photo editing software to oil painting, or water colors or charcoal using those filters in your software. by coverting the shot focus becomes less important and it gives it a nice fuzzy feel.

Always a good suggestion. When life hands you lemons...

Hey, hey... now....

:wink:

I like the idea of focusing in on a specific element of the photo that keeps the feel of it... and working with enhancing that. May I take and see if it'll work here?

(You're always SO much better than me at editing though... and you said you've tried everything, so I doubt how successful it'll be. I'll welcome it as a learning experience, though!)

quote=photophly quote=mommy115 I have no option ... (show quote)
First is your original.

Second is ONE edit option (used picasa)

Third is ANOTHER edit option (used lightroom2 and rather like the vignetting in this one, personally)
