That's right, Flip. About half of the housing and some businesses are either underground or dug into the sides of hills. Had the best sleep in our 2 bedroom apartment we stayed at. No light and no sound!
Thanks RG. I see your point.
Thanks Erv. If can get the computer to do want you want with it I'd love to see it. Really need some guidance.
Cheers
Phil
Thanks Linda. I've seen a lot of your posts. Love your style.

Thanks Linda.
1. Take a look at this one I took just before using a torch to light up the truck. A little more side but not sure it works.
2. Believe it or not this was Dad's first attempt at pool at the age of 73, hence the intensity on his face! lol. I hate using a flash and deliberately chose darkness and blacked-out shades to bring a little focus on the subject. I've included a shot of Dad with the flash and a lot more intensity! lol
3. I wanted to include the wing of the plane to give it a little perspective because being in the middle of nowhere I thought I needed something.
Your thoughts?
Phil
More side?
Flash
Thanks Jerry. I love the shot of Dad but I think I missed a great opportunity with the first shot. It was pitch darkness and used ISO of only 2000. The population of William Creek is 3 so it was very dark. I think maybe I should've cranked up to the Nikon D610's full potential of 6000! lol.
G'day guys,
I'd like some opinions on these photos I took during my trip to Coober Pedy with my dad. In particular, the first photo of the sunset with the truck in the foreground. It was hand held so I know a tripod should've been used.

what was setting on first one.
Nikon D610. FL 30mm, ISO 6400, Shutter 8secs, f/2.8.
Finally! Here they are. Would appreciate any comments.
I got the first one uploaded but it won't upload the second pic. Could it be that the file is too big?
Sorry, having trouble uploading. Hang on a sec.
G'day everyone,
I'd be interested in any comments on these.
The first and second pics are the same shot taken using a Tamron 24-70mm. The first is the original shot and the second is after I ran an automatic adjustment with photo shop. I was extremely lucky to capture a shooting star! Can you spot it?
The third is obviously the blood moon taken using my Sigma 50-500mm.

I love #2! You've inspired me to try something like that. Melbourne has trams but we can't stick our heads out the window! I'll have to think of something else to shoot.
And the 4th shot is amazing!
Cheers,
Phil
I've got a Sigma 50-500mm and have tried shooting the moon but always get very grainy, noisy pictures. What exposures and what time of day did you take these great shots?
