Yes, I agree, he looks big next to the box. Brings back memories of when I was little and I didn't always recognize a stink bug until it was to late. However, I was a fast learner! Nice photo

Your love for your friend and pet shine through in your writing! I am very sorry for your loss. I love Snowy's blue eyes and the expression with the coloring on his face. You are blessed to have had Snowy for 12 beautiful years and I know you will continue to remember Snowy. I pray for comfort for you. STAR

Thank you. I am still learning and I think that I will be learning for the rest of my life. I have lots of fun. This little flying thing (what ever it is seem to be eating something off the wood). Is it a dragon fly?

You'll do fine, Star. Horses are just a whole different kind of photography. When you have time, you might Google "Tips for photographing horses". There are lots of tricks and tips that are actually NEEDED for great horse photography.

May I see what I can do with your photo of the full horse and bride?

It was pretty dark on her face and the horse's ears didn't show against the dark trees, so I cropped, used a dodge and burn brush on her face, hair and the horse's ears, took out some of the red and blue stuff in the background and took out the chair arm and the limb that was sticking right under the horse's bacl leg. I brightened the whole picture and sharpened it a little.
If you want a free photo editing program, there is always http://www.gimp.com to practice with til you decide on another you may want. There is also http://www.picmonkey.com
You don't even have to download picmonkey, just go there and use it.

Edit: OOPS, I may have forgotten to sharpen it. That's usually what I do last.

Thank you ladies. I am really glad that there was a professioal there. However,I was there early and got a few shots that no one else did. I love to learn and one can learn from other's experiences, heart breaks, and joys. I prefer to learn from other's experience and joys.

I really hate to say anything, but at the same time, it's something non-horse lovers do not usually understand and it may help someone in the future to know this. Horses are my passion and if I went to all the trouble to include my horse in my wedding, I wouldn't want him excluded from the picture with just his saddle showing. If she didn't love that animal, she would not want pictures on him in her wedding.
Too bad you can't go back and do it over at a 3/4 angle to the horse so that the horse's head, the bride and the groom all showed in the photo.
I also did equine photography and weddings for several years and know that horse lovers are not into pictures with just part of a horse showing. If this is a photo that you cropped, please put the horse back in.
Otherwise, a nice photo.

I am going to retire in Jan. I will have time to take some classes, I hope!

I did a basic edit in CS5. Nothing special. The sun is a major problem. You cannot restore detail once it is blown out. Very nice photo still. I am not a pro at this but love to try. I ran it through a filter after playing with the levels a bit.
