Tweaked back and couldn’t hike this day. So I wasn’t able to to see Vernal and Nevada falls. I will post a couple pictures of Yosemite, Horsetail and Bridlevail falls flows from Mid April

Agree with #1.
Disagree with #2. I recently posted shots I took inside a museum at 3200 ISO with very little noise.
Point #3: Make sure you set the diopter in the viewfinder! It's one of the first things both the manual and Darrell Young specify!
#4: One of the joys of digital photography is the re-usability of the exposure medium. I think it was Henri Cartier-Bresson who said, "your first 10,000 photos are your worst." :)

I agree with the ISO. statement...Its nice to only use 100 or 200 ISO but the 7100 can give you good quality pictures with high ISO in lower light conditions. You have to practice and play with all of your settings and eventually it will all click and you will know what to do and when to do it.

And how many people is it that you know?

Yep, he had a nice post going until he had to let us know how much more intelligent he is than his family and friends. At that point it became just another garbage post.

I too have the 18-200 and I have been developing a fondness of what it can do both at wide angle and tele. I would recommend this lens and it will give you many options for some good pictures.

I too find myself in the same "Family " situations. Recently I decided to get away from my 35 or 50 mm primes and took my 18-200. The zoom took away almost all my issues...I got more pictures of groups of two or three and still got plenty of entire group pictures....family loved the close ups with the zoom....I may have found a new friend for family photos.

I to a large degree argee with Mr Griffith. However I have some extremely picky family members that hate their pictures being taken unless they look perfect......so I do use some post processing to please some family members but when it comes to nature, I am a camera man only.

As for the three pictures....all taken were with different lighting conditions and moving parts. To claim one is better than the other... the comparison should be with the same exact photo and conditions. The last picture with the bull looks the worst of the group but had different lighting, dust in the air and lots of movement. Were any of these photos taken with a tripod?

Thanks for testing the cards. About a month ago I got a $100.00 gift card from Best Buy...was going to get a another camera bag but the selection was poor, So on the fly I changed my mind and bought 2 of the 95mbs scan disk cards. While I didn't do the same test I noticed right away that there was a positive difference in the new cards. I also had a 45mbs card in the camera originally.
Once again thanks for helping us all.

National geographic, sports illustrated, NHL, NFL, USTA, NSCCA, etc., all endorse Canon. It doesn't mean any other manufacturer is bad, or even not as good, it simply means these, and other, entities endorse one brand and not another. Use the cameras, look at the pictures, and judge for yourself! :D

Simple answer, since Canon sells more camera's world wide...they have more money to spend on sponsor endorsements....really the impressive resume you listed is all about how much Canon paid these groups to "be on their side"

Someone owns thirteen Canon cameras. It is true. It takes 13 Canon cameras to equal One NIKON camera. lol

I too was wondering WHY someone would have 13 camera's by Canon. He should sell 6 of them and by 6 Nikons then compare camera's and photos for a year.
Me thinks 7 more Canons would be for sell

:-P
