If I had read that report and checked the specs, My choice would have been the Panasonic. The panasonic would have fit my requirements better. Notably the movie part.
Like they say different strokes for different folks. :-)

This is just comparing specs, and what they think is important might not be important to you.

Sigma is very good at fixing problems. If you are confident that it is the lens take some shots on a tripod send or call with the problem. I sent the pictures to them and they authorized the return and repaired my 17-270 now it is my go to lens when I am out and about. The rubber band for lens creep works like a charm. Hope this helps, the turn around time in my case was ten days.One other thing when using a tripod turn off the OS or anti vib.

I used this lens on a Nikon 5200 for a 42 day trip to Europe and found that I had to do significant post processing on most of the 4500 shots selected for a book. The 5200 was able to handle the high ISO requirements for indoor or other darker shots... but such shots ended up very soft. Then there was significant vignetting on may shots... especially at the longer range. If you are looking for simple snapshots... you might be satisfied. I purchased the lens in September and may keep it as a back up... but never again as my walk around lens for important shooting.

Maybe a better understanding of the United States Constitution should prevail. Read the second amendment or if you are mental challenged like some, have someone with intelligence and understanding read it to you. There are many on this list who have travelled the world and are from all parts of the world.
Some of who would love to be able to have a gun for protection, and seen family members killed for the big crime of voicing their opinion.

ditto! Mac sales are dependable and their tech support is outstanding.

MacSales, also known as OWC (Other World Computing) had lots of Mac stuff, including memory & RAID, with good prices & support.

For RAID, I use "SoftRaid" and external hard drives. http://softraid.com . I recently had an internal drive fail. SoftRaid seamlessly switched over to the external drive and emailed me. I replaced the bad drive and SoftRAID synced them. No hassles. It just worked.
For more powerful RAID features for more bucks, take a look at Drobo ( http://www.drobo.com )

Your opinion on Panasonic seems not well founded. What model are you referring to? I have owned a few Point and shoots from Panasonic. I thought I had a problem but after talking to the service tech, I found that I had overlooked one thing. Reading the manual. I was treated courteously. I was a little red faced but that was my problem. I still own and use a FZ7, TZ5a. If I was in the market for a new camera I would have the FZ200 second on my list right after the Nikon D5200 or (5100). One advantage to the TZ5a is it takes excellent movies using a tripod and it also does HDR if so inclined. I also own a nikon D3100 which is a very good camera.
Thats my HO (Humble opinion.

I'd think twice before buying a Panasonic. They're not all that well made and if it ever breaks down on you, is almost impossible to get repaired. There are a lot of better cameras out there.

I just chked. I use a MAC and Safari as a browser. I started the video in HTML 5 and right clicked my mouse and held it till the dialog box came up and choose Download video. I can't say what the procedure is on a PC but I am sure some one will post it.

Does anyone use a Download programme that does a good, fast and preferably free job that can be recommended? "Final", which is great, won't do it. There are others that profess to but many of them don't let on that they are for sale until the last.
I see that Firefox's add-on Grease Monkey is supposed to but I can only find that it's for writing 'scripts'. so I'm lost before I get going. I can't find a manual that shows how.
I've just tried to download a tutorial from the 'Photoshop Training Channel" http://photoshoptrainingchannel.com/advance-hair-masking/ and I'm told it's an "unsupported site."

So many people seem to want to change this forum. Stop this, make this that way, block this user, stop these comments.......this forum is different from most and I like it because of that very difference. Yep, there are some folks here who have odd ideas, different points of view, lousy photography and great cameras, great photography and crappy cameras.

Once you learn all the ins and outs of this site and how to navigate to different sections, there are ways to know how many people looked at your post, there are ways to stop your in-box from being cluttered with notifications of answers, etc.

This forum is the best window to the world I've ever found. We have folks from all over the world who share their little corner and even with a 'like' button. I still would not have time to view every post made. Some days nearly 200-300 new threads are started.

Just accept the Hog like it is, the good with the bad. I've learned a lot of restraint since I joined this forum. You can't tell every photographer here that their photo is great and you can't tell every fool that they're an idiot, but this is one of the best examples of free speech at work I've ever found. You have the right to say it and I have the right to ignore it....You can post your bad photo or you can post your best.

If it's help for a photography problem, there are sections that will do just that, whether general photography, macro, sports etc. There are folks here who will help you with computer issues, lens problems, camera reviews......shucks, I bet somebody can even give you a good recipe for that beautiful dish of food they photographed yesterday. Yea, this is a photography forum, but we are humans behind the camera and we are not all the same. I would not want responses to be reduced to just a click.

Although we're not supposed to be a democracy, we're close enough that the following quote applies.

Alexander Tyler--

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.

And Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that...

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.”

I fear both are relevant today.

One would think after reading your post, that you haven't read or understood the Constitution . Every person who is elected to our Congress, Senate and the Presidency takes an oath to protect and preserve the Constitution. It is the backbone of a form of government that has lasted for 136 years. I am proud to be a United States Citizen and have served to protect your right to voice your opinion. My opinion is that our country is based on laws. Those who break our laws should be punished and not the people who obey the law. Those who love their country should be able to live their lives within the confines of our laws and the (Constitution)
