You are going to need to upgrade to Lightroom 6 to download to Lightroom. If you have the 7DII.

Thanks, was afraid of that....

I'm presently running Lightroom 4.4 with the latest updates, I attempted to download my Raw files into Lightroom but discovered it would not recognize the files. Question does any UHH members out there use Lightroom 4.4 and are they shooting with the Mkii. Also has Adobe upgraded Lightroom 4.4 to accept the raw files for my 7DMkii yet?

The 7D original was a 1800nAh rated the new 7D MK ll is rated 1865mAh same physical size same 7.2 vdc they he are intererchangable.

I prefer Wasabi batteries their rated at 2600mAh and do last longer than Canon's brand. And at better than half the price no problems with them in the 7D 5D Mk ll or mk lll.

Thanks, I'll look up the Wasabi battery and get a couple as back ups...

I upgraded from the 7D to the 7DM2 myself and yes, the old batteries work fine. As already pointed out, the newer batteries will last a bit longer. It should also be pointed out that the 7DM2 does seem to go through battery juice faster than my 7D did, so the newer batteries are probably preferred (my opinion). That's especially true if you turn on GPS - expect to go through battery juice at warp speed. (Which is why I no longer turn GPS on unless I have a real reason to do so).

Appreciate the come back and the heads upon the GPS...

The 7DII comes with an LP-E6N battery. Older models, such as the 5DIII and 6D, and the 7D all come with an LP-E6 battery. The two batteries are interchangable in all of those cameras. This includes third party batteries, so long as they have one of those two designations. I use both types, including several third party ones, in both my 6D and 7DII with absolutely no issues. One of the third party batteries has the highest capacity of any of them. From Power2000.

Thanks, that clears up the picture quite nicely...

Snipe, as far as I know, it's the same battery but the newer one has about 10% more power.
I don't have a 7mkl.
Though I use the SAME battery in both my 5Dll and the 7ll and can interchange the charger as well! ;-)

Thanks for the come back...

Your Canon batteries for the 7D will work fine in your 7D MK II. A number of generic ones may or may not work completely. Some generic batteries may not communicate properly with the camera giving you the condition or charge level of the battery. When you put the battery in and turn the camera on, a message may appear saying that the battery will not communicate with the camera with an option to use the battery anyway.

Thanks for the info. I guess I need to purchase the new versions to ensure proper use and full charges. More items to add to my already stuffed camera pack...

The old batteries will work just fine in the Mk II body. The new ones just last a bit longer. The chargers are identical.

Thanks for the low down...

I presently own a Canon 7D and am waiting for the arrival of my new Canon 7DMkii. While awaiting the arrival of my new body I began researching for a second batter, low and behold I began too find many disparaging controversies concerning a replacement battery. Some reports stated I could use the same battery I use in my 7D body, others stated I needed to purchases an upgraded new version. Can anyone shed some light on this dilemma.

Then they are RAW images to begin with. Transferring an image will in no way effect the type of image it is

I'm not a techo wizard like many of you on UHH so here goes. When transferring images to a portable storage device, well they transfer in the raw format and also when importing them into Lightroom well they transfer in the raw format?
