Darrell Young's Mastering the Nikon D7100 is great. (ISBN: 978-1-937538-32-3). I purchased the same package and this book has been a great help and easy to understand.

I shoot to capture moments in time, primarily for myself and my family. While in Vietnam in the late 60s my roommate and I both had Wednesday as our "day off". He is the one that got me interested in Nikon gear and becoming a "photographer". (I'm not there yet but still learning after all these years.) We would go out and shoot on Wednesday and the following Wednesday we would go to a dark room on the nearby army base (air conditioned) and develop and print our black and white shots. We also did a lot of slide work using a dark bag to develop. UHH is a great site for me as I attempt to get "back to photography". Many of you don't know it but you have help me a great deal. Thanks to all.

ebrunner, I think you meant that anything with the shark mouth was a P-40? There never was such a plane as a P-41. just a note.

There actually was an experimental XP-41. The Seversky XP-41 was a fighter aircraft built in the United States in 1939. It never made it to full production - don't know why however.

Stash, thanks for the memories. Nice black and whites. My brother flew the P-51 and P-38 (photo recon) out of England during WWII.

Back in the late 60s I was a Nikon user and was able to purchase camera gear at a fairly reasonable price while stationed with the Air Force in Japan. A few years later I realized that my cameras were resting on a shelf and not being used. I sold all of the gear. Now retired and it's time to get back to photography. Recently purchased a Nikon "bundle" including the D7100, 18-140 and 55-300 lenses. Really like the D7100 and still learning about it and what it can do. Also like the 18-140 lens. Haven't used the 55-300 much yet. Great to be a member of this group and hope to learn as I go.
