Anyone have any experience with Kurt's Camera Repair in San Diego? I need to have a Nikon F, Nikon F2 and a Bronica S2 checked, cleaned and adjusted. They offer a 1 year warranty on film cameras.
I've been using Kurt's Camera Repair since they 1st started in San Diego and I wouldn't trust any other repair place in Southern Ca. An old Navy buddy from MD sent one of his old Nikons to them a few years back and is totally satisfied with their work.
Loved the photos. My Navy time was 63-94, USN/USNR. Plane guarded the America off Viet Nam 1970, the only plane they lost was an A3 but the crew were rescued. Four paid vacations to Viet Nam, three to the IO of which two include the Persian Gulf and one to Australia. DD-845, DDG-31, DDG-14 and AD-43. I was an STG from 64-94, retired as an STGC. I've scanned all my slides but I'm currently in the process of copying them as NEFs on my Nikon gear.
Outstanding shots. I recently purchased the Nikkor 200-500mm and so far the results of using the lens on my D750 have relegated my Tamron 150-600mm to back up status. Both are great lenses but the Nikkor seems to be sharper in my experience.
This is why we don't have a dog. Makes photography more enjoyable.
Good shots Jim. We don't have any Dunnocks in Southern California.

Gnslngr, I find that your attitude towards those who have given the ultimate sacrifice appaling to say the least. It sounds like you never served in the military for what ever reason, most likely cowardice, but those that served (and died) protected your right to free speech. If you're not happy, why don't you emigrate to some other country.
Fantastic shots as usual Regis, I'm still waiting for B&H to finally ship my Nikon version.
Personally I like all three Beercat.
Did you ever serve in the us military? If you didn't, what gives you the right to disparage anyone who has? To me it appears that you believe that you have decided that that those who gave their lives so that you can have free speech are not deserving.
My solution was to create RAW/JPEG files for each of my Nikon Dslrs. After converting in NX View2, I save my RAW shots and then format my memory card.
What I've done is to set up folders on my external hard drive, one for RAW and one for JPEGs. After I use View NX2 to convert to JPEG, I use go to select computer from my desktop and upload the RAW photos to the folder on the external drive. Only then do I reformat my card.
