I don't comment much because I don't know as much as half of you do yet I read as much as I can and have learned a lot.

The reason for my thank you is that I won a first prize ribbon for one of my pictures at the Erie County (NY) Fair, one of the oldest and biggest county fairs in the nation through tips and tricks I learned here and some God given ability.

Thanks again and keep on helping others. I for one am grateful!

I STOP TO SHOOT wrote:
Dear UHH;

I have had my Nikon D90 for 3 years, love it very much, but the problem I have been having lately, is that my camera (through Menu) is set in RAW.... and I don't change it. I shoot in M, A, & S. I set my White Balance and my ISO Usually at the lowest) I sometimes fiddle with my EV and change my F stops frequently.

Here is my problem, I will check before I start shooting and then somewhere down the line I will find my Raw is no longer in RAW but jpeg.

What am I hitting accidently that makes it change from Raw to jpeg? I know I need to train my eye to periodically check to see if it is in Raw. That is the only thing I use is RAW and it has been just in the last 2 months I have caught it shifting into jpeg?

Can you give me some tips on what I might be hitting for it to go into jpeg?

I thank you for your assistance in advance.
Dear UHH; br br I have had my Nikon D90 for 3 yea... (show quote)

Don't the reset to defaults buttons (green dots) revert the quality to JPEG? Not with my camera right now to check yet that might be the culprit.

Hope it is!

I would just like to check out all my settings because this is my first digital and I am not sure I set it up for the best settings.I wish I could just check out a chart to compare my settings. Thanks

Might I suggest the following for you on Amazon:

David Busch's Nikon D610 Guide to Digital SLR Photography (David...
Busch, David D.
Sold by: David D. Busch, Author

Not only does it give you recommended settings, it also gives the why behind them. I too just obtained a new D610 and it helped me immensely. He also has a Field Guide. Not sure if he has a specific one for the D600 yet they are so similar it shouldn't be too much different. He also describes what defaults are changed by the two button reset.

Enjoy!
