Did you ever use Kodachrome?
How did you ‘finish’ it?

Just your choice of Kodachrome affected the color rendition, contrast, etc. It could be an entirely different image if you chose to use Ektachrome or Fujichrome, for example. A choice the photographer makes subjectively.

My understanding with the photography plan w 20mb you get 250 credits if you were a subscriber earlier than November 1, 2023. People who begin their subscriptions after that date will only be entitled to 100 credits per month.

While you have a leading 4 characters, that only applies to jpeg images. For RAW images the first character is replaced with an underscore.

I set mine to R5_1nnnn when I hit 10,000 shots so the 4-digit increment number wouldn't repeat. Added the "R5" prefix on the R5 body and "R7" prefix on the R7 body so I can instantly see which camera an image is from. Works nicely for me.

They install under a new name which appends 2023, i.e. Adobe Lightroom Classic 2023. I have some shortcuts created on my desktop on Windows 11 for Lightroom and Photoshop. These no longer work with the new name and I had to recreate the shortcuts.

I have problems with the x-rite colormunki for calibrating monitor. After I switched, I got message from studio that monitors needed attention. Image was bright and contrasty. I tried to recalibrate, but istudio says there are no devices (colormunki) attached. Tried to reload istudio and update, same problem. Used colormunki display software and it had no problem finding device. I don’t like results from colormunki software and want to use istudio or csstudio which is recommended by calibrate. Neither sees the colormunki m. It worked fine in Windows 10

I have the Canon 400 prime with an r5. Yes, it does a good job with stabilization. I am able to get handheld shots which I was not able to do with the 7dMark II. Am switching to the rf 100-500 which provides several stops more stabilization (the lens has stabilization plus the stabilization from the r5), and allows me to zoom which was a limiting factor when shooting with the 400. I used the 400 with and without a 1.4 extender and autofocus was relatively quick.

I have been waiting for that lens from B&H for over 1.5 months. Contacted them and was told I am midway on their list. Expect some delivery in July but that I probably will get it in mid to late August.

I have been waiting for delivery on a Cannon RF 100-500 lens. It’s currently listed as “back order” on all the reputable sites. I’m wondering if anyone has recently obtained one or any other Cannon lens that was on back order and how long the wait was. I recently switched to a Cannon R5 and am anxiously awaiting this lens. Thanks..

I need some help. I can bring up Topaz Denoise AI, I can downbload a photo into the program, but after, maybe 2 to 3 seconds, the Topaz program shuts down. Any idea(s) as to why it is doing that?

I had similar problems and found that the default for the graphics card was set to All Processors (experimental). Under preferences, this is called AI Processor. I reset to point to my graphics card and this has solved the problem.

I too had similar problems. I uninstalled Luminar and when reinstalling changed the default location for the folder it creates from Pictures to another location. It appears Windows Defender is putting extra restrictions on that Folder. Perhaps yelling Defender to allow Luminar to pass through should work, but my clean install and changing the folder was the solution for me. Luminar needs to fix this, but this worked for me.

Question: Lightroom is running slow as molasses, especially when doing any detailed adjustments. I'm attaching a snip of my computer system specs and Windows Defenders settings. I have tried making all the adjustments suggested by Adobe but no improvement. Is my computer simply lacking the memory & CPU needed for LR, or could this Windows Defender be an issue?

Would need to know how much memory, graphics card and size of images you are editing, however you can check to see if Windows Defender is causing the problem easily by turning it off and running a trial. Don't forget to turn it back on when finished.

I had the same problem. Also found that Lightroom was running slow. For Luminar, I changed the location of the files it creates so that they were no longer in the protected “pictures” folder. Also allowed Lightroom to pass through Windows Defender. Luminar 4 now works and Lightroom is much faster.
