I haven't ever used the program, but does it have a clone tool that you might be able to use in place of a healing tool?

I wish!! I'm just tired of all the "upgrades" being worse than the originals!!

The newest version of windows has removed the spot remover tool from the free photo editing program. Has anybody found a replacement for that tool? (free one, please!) My phone has that ability - why not Windows!?

Been to Alaska 3 times and took a lot of photos (Flickr Link. https://www.flickr.com/photos/allprophotos/albums/72157711727764822) after all the trips I if I had to go again I would go with something like a 24-105 or 24-135 and a 70-200 or 55/250. You do not want to constantly be changing lens as well as carrying extra weight. If you have a teleconverter you can maybe throw that in for your 70-200. Enjoy your self and take a lot of of pictures with the lens you have.
You might ask some people who use a Tamron 18-300 how that worked for them. When I was there I did not see many of them but it makes sense you get clean pics.
Have fun

Beach Lady. You must be back home from your Alaska-Seattle trip. If it won't effect you're potential sales You might post a few images from your Seattle visit to share with the many folks that gave you destination advise.

I'm not back - I haven't left yet...just posted on Saturday looking for tips. I'm going to Alaska mid-August, then Seattle on the way home. I'll be sure to post some shots, but it will be a month.

Chihuly Garden and Glass is a museum, with a bit of garden attached. The contents are unlike anything you will see anywhere else. Room after room displaying different forms of art glass that is truly beautiful. Several of the rooms will be somewhat dark, working best with a camera, not just a cell phone. But the cell phone works great in the garden areas, all of which are stunning.

Thanks - good to know!

When we had visitors we had a destination to see much of the best of Seattle.

Start with an early visit to the Pike Place Market with activity beginning around 7 AM, from there take the sidewalk down to the waterfront and catch the Seattle to Bainbridge Ferry for a roundtrip as a walk-on passenger. You might consider doing a second walk on with the ferry as an evening destination as it is a very good time for sunset views
of the Seattle skyline. When you get to Bainbridge you will need to get off the ferry and then getback on the ferry.

Another evening option is to go to Kerry Park for a sunset view of the Seattle skyline as post previously here. Probably use Uber to get to Kerry Park.

Have a great visit.

Having lived there, in three stations, a mono is the best to have. No problem if you have to pick up and move quickly. The 24-105 is great and a long zoom, up to 400 is great, but the 24-105 is the one you want to have. Another thing, layers of clothes cause it can be in the 80's and then dip down to the 50's or below quickly. Take a thin rain jacket and hat too. I've lived in 9 different states and Alaska is my most memorable. One other thing, LISTEN TO YOUR GUIDE!!!! The caps are not for humor. That person is looking out for your safety, pay attention!
My first day in Alaska my Commanding Officer sat me down and looked me straight In the eye and said,
"DON'T F@^% WITH ALASKA! This place will kill you quicker than anywhere else!" He was right, it is both very beautiful and very dangerous if you do not respect it and take the precautions you are warned about.
Have a great time and you will enjoy yourself.

We were in Victoria in early May. We'd previously been to Butchart Gardens, but hit it this time when all the tulips were in bloom. We also visited Hatley Castle and Gardens. Both gardens were nice!

Sounds lovely! I'll definitely try to fit in Hatley. Butchart & another garden are already on my list!

Chihuly Gardens is right next to the Needle.
It is even more spectacular if you shot it after dark.

I took my Sony RX10 III with me on my trip to Alaska. In Denali I saw quite a few bears off in the distance. The Sony is nice and light. The question is, how are you traveling. If it is in a group then carrying the 150-600 could be difficult and possibly not on your camera at the right time. The 18-400 is probably the best bet and possibly the only lens you need. If the 10-24 has a smaller f stop then it is worth taking. I took a plan trip in Alaska and a helicopter in Alaska. Shooting out the window with a long lens could be difficult. I am going to Iceland and Greenland in August and plan to take my Sony RX 10 III my Sony AR7 4 with my 24-70 and 70-180 lenses. If I am on the zodiac or if it raining or misty, I will not want to change lenses and I'll still be covered. My 200-600 is just to much weight to be carrying around and not flexible when I need a wider shot.

You make good points - I will have both bodies with lenses at the ready, and a GoPro for videos. My friend will be along (not a photographer) so she will end up carrying whichever camera I'm not using. (Poor girl!)

Generally the “grizzly bear” name applies to those brown bears living more than 80 miles from salt water, and tend to be smaller than their more coastal counterparts.

An evening ferry boat ride over to Bainbridge Island and back. About 30-40 minutes each way and the sunset on the City as you return is awesome. Sunset today is about 8:52 PM so plan to be heading back to Seattle around 8:30 +/- for best views.

This sounds perfect for an evening! Thanks!!
