I am going to buy a Nikon 5200 kit with a 18mm-55mm lens it all so comes with a 55-300 mm lens or a Nikon 7100 with a 18 -200mm lens, which do you think would be best?
I purchased the 5200 because of price, now I regret not buying the 7100 for one main reason..... Focus motor in camera not on lens ... I have 3 lens that do not have autofocus which is a pain some times but I will learn to live withit till I buy my next Nicon
Welcome. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your bonsai. They have always fascinated me, but they take a lot of time and patience to train.
When you retire to SouthWest Florida and live in an over 55 community ( nice way to say senior) you have all the time in the world ........ But the people you live near take a lot of time and patience to train
B, welcome to the Hog. Check with your local junior college, they have lots of beginning digital courses. But be prepared for a tough and fast moving class. SS
This is one of the best explanations for a novice that I have seen Thanks from a raw novice
Welcome! The D5100 is a good camera, what is it about the camera your not impressed with?
In live view the delay drives me crazy .... I guess that I will only use the viewfinder ..... The lens is not that great and my old lenses Nikon AF 28-85mm and Nikon AF 70-210mm will not have autofocus and some other features that I am trying to figure out.
Greetings and Salutations to all I am a novice photographer who just purchased a Nikon 5100 kit with an AF-S 18-55 mm lens that I am not overly impressed with itÂ…. but the price was right. I had an old D80 that broke down after dropping off my workbench and hitting the concrete floor. I am involved in Bonsai and need to take progress pictures of each of the trees in my collection and I cannot or should I say do not know how to do it. Where to go to get information and how to set up the 5100 for descent pictures is the big question for me. I am looking forward to spending more time here and following this blog.
