Very nice images, very sharp and clear. Vibrant reds are extremely hard to capture.
Bret is this an L series lens?

IndiI'm a little worried about the runt. He doesn't get fed as well as the other two. Also, on of the adults, I think it's the papa, favors the biggest one and he's not too good at his job.
They are fascinating to watch.[/quote wrote:

There is no such thing as a runt eaglet. Runts occur in
litters such as puppies or kittens but not when anything hatches from eggs at different times. The eggs were laid at different times and hatched at different times. Last year the subject of runts came up and the mods made it very clear what I have said here. I, too, had never thought about it that way.
Also, I assure you the father and mother are doing their job just fine. They have a 100% success rate in raising their young and this is not their first time around this block.

Enjoy watching the show.

He doesn't do as good a job as mom, but the youngest is too young to eat as much as the other two.

All three chicks are hatched and eating. Although they are wobbly they are so much fun to watch.

Today the third egg has it's pip. It's a small hole made by the eaglett prior to hatching.

Here they are, Jen...ENJOY! nbg.com/eaglecam; for the Decorah Eagles, I just went on google for Decorah Eagle Cam; Richmond Eagle Cam. At the nbg (Norfolk Botanical Gardens) you can read the sad story of last years female eagle who was killed by a plane right after the eaglets were hatched. They had to take the eaglets to the Virginia Wildlife Center and raise them. They released them last September, however one was hit by a car and is back at the center, where you can watch her live cam, also. I am addicted to these lovely creatures. the male at NBG has found a YOUNG female and they are trying to make a clutch...:)))Here are a few picts from last year...

Seems to me their would be plenty of old houses and ghost towns in that area. Had no idea that you had enough water up there to attract the eagles.

Sorry I spelt the word Osprey as Ospray wrong ... maybe that is why I can never seem to get real good pictures.

Not necessarily, they move real fast, and they usually don't let humans get very close. All in all they are good shots.
