These pictures are not all that great but Here is a nesting pair and they can be found down below the Pactola Lake up on top of a pole that the power service people made a platform for.
The bird is an Osprey, they will only hunt and live around water, lakes, ocean or rivers.
Sorry I spelt the word Osprey as Ospray wrong ... maybe that is why I can never seem to get real good pictures.

Not necessarily, they move real fast, and they usually don't let humans get very close. All in all they are good shots.
Well they were a set of pictures that I had that I had not really done anything with and well UHH was my chance to show that we in the black hills have them and we also have golden eagles and bald eagles neither of which I have not any good pictures,my foray in to the back roads of this beautiful area is more in things that don't move fast and don't really mind having their pictures taken and I do old houses and buildings of ghost towns.
Seems to me their would be plenty of old houses and ghost towns in that area. Had no idea that you had enough water up there to attract the eagles.
Yes we do is you pull a map out of the black hills we have 4 fair sized ponds/lakes along with Many Creeks(Rivers) once you leave the hills then the water gets kind of scarce.
