Awesome! Always wanted to see these in action :)
Thanks everyone for the nice comments and thumbs up :) and thanks for identifying that insect! I was wondering what it was hehe. I agree EdJ0307 that has got to be one of the ugliest I've seen haha
Oh that's no biggie:) I only know them because I'm new to the area and made my own little..err large haha..bird guide of common birds at the places I've been to take photos. I've found that people here help Identify anything you question so don't be afraid to ask
Been very bust recently, walking all over the Bolsa Chica wetlands. Here's a few of my more favorite photos. :)
What appears to be a Say's Phoebe with some type of yummy bug
A goofy Willet climbing along the brush.
Girlfriend walked where I couldn't and got this House Finch :)
Thank you all for your input! I'm Very happy to have a place to get answers on such things :D. You all are top notch!!!
And I'm thinking maybe an appetizer lol this lil bird is really small :p
After reading about and staring at multiple photos of each I'm leaning towards the orange crowned warbler, it's coloring is very similar and the wing markings are so faint on the one I saw. Thanks again for all of your help!
I'm not sure if this is the proper section to post this,:XD: but a couple of weeks ago I photographed a bird I haven't been able to pin down on the identification front. It either has too few markings for one species or too much color for another. I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on the ID for me :$. I took this at the Shipley Nature Center in Huntington Beach, Ca.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Ty in advance! :D
Thanks for the replies! I enjoyed watching it and am happy to be able to share a little here :)
I spotted a Night Heron landing on an island in a pond at a park in Huntington Beach yesterday. He was behind some branches giving me a chance to practice focusing around objects. :)
Haha that's awesome! Thanks for sharing, my gf will enjoy these when she gets home :)
The first photo is a reddish egret. Great shots :)

Beautiful images with great focus. Can you tell what that is that appears to be protruding from its lower breast? Yikes!
Yes! I wondered that myself but found it to be a talon tucked up near its body, pretty interesting hunting stance. Ty for looking and for your nice comments :D
Awesome shot! Those lil guys are definitely always on the move :D
I recently went to Craig Regional Park in Fullerton California it was beautiful and I was delighted to find numerous water fowl, snowy egrets, hummingbirds, a Black Phoebe, and a juvenile Red-Shouldered Hawk!
The Red-Shouldered Hawk landed in a tree moments after we parked and remained there until we left. I was able to get some decent shots which I'm excited to share!
Amazing shots! I'm glad you decided to shared these photos:), these birds are so beautiful and to see one after it caught a meal makes it more interesting. :D keep em coming!
