Wading Birds, need help with ID please

Taken at Canaveral Nat'l Seashore/ Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. The first one reminds me of Gru from Despicable Me :-) Now that I have a great camera for close ups I think birds will become a favorite subject

Nice shots. Looked like Green Herons to me but I may be wrong. It would have helped to put them in the download mode so that we could get a better look at them. :thumbup: :thumbup:

1st is a reddish egret and next two are tricolored herons, well done, curveskarla

First is a Reddish Egret and others are Tri Colored Herons. Nice shots! Did you see the Egret dance? Really cool to watch!

Thanks for the kind words and sorry!! for not putting them in download mode, still learning the how-to's of the site. I've placed them in download in this post (I may have downloaded a clearer pic of the red heron this time, I switched to a bigger monitor)

Yes!! I did see the dance, it was amazing! That was the first time I'd seen it, tried to shoot it but they were too quick for me!! Thank you for looking and identifying them!

no problem..would you please click download on #3..i like the birds expression....these are some very nice shots..not perfect..natty geo won't be calling...but some damn good photos!
