im making filters for my flash doe anyone have any suggestions on what materials to use that would make cool, useful effects?

I am an art graduate and a photography student, I have been shooting B&W film for two years now, and recently started shooting color film. And I also enjoy digital. After shooting semi-locally for all this time I guess my biggest issue is finding what I believe to be interesting places to shoot at. And finding good subject matter that is not overdone or played out to my professors. Any advice on how to get over my shooting block? Does anyone know of any cool
