What a nice capture. The exposure sharpness, contrast, saturation, composition have all come together in this shot for a wonderful image. You should be proud of this one.

You seem to be a person of character. Welcome aboard. Fresh views of life and the world around us is very desirable. Your eyes on our world encourage us to take a new view from your perspective. It will prove to be a delight! We will learn from each other.

Feels like a moment in time frozen. The photo gave me the same feeling I got the first time I looked into a 3D viewer. It's as if what is happening in movement is suddenly frozen solid for our close inspection. That allows us to see fast events or views that pass up buy so fast we don't get to record the details. This photo gives me this privilege.

By the way the TP-Link MR3940 wireless router that uses a 4hr battery or usb power system is available on ebay as low as $25 - $35. Much less than the Nikon wu-4 setup for over $500. and the software app is free.
I was amazed at the capability.
A firmware update for the router gives it a special ability to connect to almost any Nikon camera.

I use a Nikon d800E and it has no built in wifi. I have put together a combo of a TP-Link MR3040 wireless router and Qdslrcontrol software that allows me to control my Nikon from over 50 ft. and upload Nef, jpeg, or video files. I can now shoot with live view off or on and can shoot from the camera but have the shots placed into a file on a chipdrive, hard drive or sent else ware. I can have total control over the camera from 50 ft. away and watch it focus on the spot I picked on my Microsoft Surface ( or Apple). I understand this can work with Canon and other cameras too.
My desktop, PC touch pad, and android phone can all control my camera now.
Take a look and see if the items in combo mentioned above can broaden your use of wifi.

Nikon as a manufacturer is in a prime position for selling retail, while the official Nikon dealers such as Adorama and B&H Photo in NY are outlets for the 'factory refurbished' cameras. They use only Nikon parts or Canon (For Canon products). Some great deals are available in the 'factory refurbished' areas, even ads on Ebay show 'factory refurbished' by Nikon. These are unusually offered for less than you will find them at NikonUsa web page.
Many factory refurbished items are available with a guarantee by a recognized Nikon dealer. Take a look to compare. I have never been disappointed but rather surprised at the cleanness and condition of cameras and lenses I've purchased from official Nikon shops like those mentioned above. A list of official dealers can be downloaded from Nikon USA's web page.

You captured a dramatic contrast in focus, lighting, and subject matter. What visual impact! Thanks for the share.

Being in the right place at the right time to catch rare sights or an unusual point of view is something to share.

I use Lightroom and Photoshop under Adobe CC. I shoot raw files and need to render the jpegs as the color shown in the raw files isn't the same. I often pull the shadows and highlights together along with reducing any noise that results from shooting at high speeds for birds.

Shot on the rail of a bridge to keep steady. I was about 50 yards out.

I caught this just after lift off from it's perch. The focus seems easier to lock on as the motion perpendicular to the lens is less at this point. These things move fast and present a challenge to capture.
This was shot using a Nikon D800E with a Tamron 150-600 SP lens at f/8, ISO-100, 1/640 sec.

I preset the camera and waited. When the bird lifted it's wings I pressed the shutter (on continuous) and got off five frames. This was the one and the next as it flew right over me.

These are my fourth time out using this new lens. Longer reach opens up a whole new world. I have read that an extender on this lens doesn't improve the finished image much. I may test it for myself in the future.

First few shots with my new Tamron 150-600mm lens. Now it looks like I need to start over on my wildlife portfolio. The shot was done with a Nikon D810E at 600mm f/6.3 1/160 sec. ISO 800.

Can't wait to get out to the Everglades for an afternoon with my grandson.
