Thanks for the memory. I was there about 60 years ago as a young Marine at the Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station.

Based on appearances in our yard, this is a rare bird. Based on the bird books, this is a common bird. I rarely see them.

Nice photo.
How do you like your H-X2?
Can you compare it to other X series cameras you might own?
I have an X-S10, X-T2 and X-T4 and was thinking, maybe, about going for the X-H2 if it will give me a few advantages, especially low light and more accurate focusing. Rich

It might be worth your doing some reading/googling. I also have an X-T4 but I will have different lenses on the two cams thus comparisons are not easy. I am not sure there is a marked difference in focus speed or accuracy between the X-T4 and the X-H2. I have the two because I find myself having to change lenses at inopportune times and have missed two many shots while changing lenses. On this trip I had the 150-600 on the X-H2 and the 10-24 on the X-T4.

Basically I am not sure that the X-H2 is worth it over the X-T4 for the focus speed/accuracy (but it might be).

Finally the Cedar Waxwings came back after several years. They come in force to attack our decorative cherry tree. What I don't understand is that when they come, they come mixed in with a large flock of Robins! Today the weather is heavily overcast.

I am becoming very interested in the Olympus, spicificly the OM-1, and a 100-400. Please tell me about this image. How far away was the image? Camera settings? Did you intentionally shoot it this dark? RAW? What did you do in Post?
Thanks

OK but note I have the E-M1 Mark 2 which is about 2 generations older than the OM 1.
For this photo I used:
ISO 200
F11
1/800 shutter speed
Shutter priority
Spot exposure
Spot focus
400 mm with the Leica 100-400
Raw

Processed to taste with DXO Photolab 6

Note that I also have A Sony full frame system that, IMO, returns much better photos than the M4/3. But, I am in my 80's with certain health problems and the weight savings of the M4/3 is important to me.

This is Muddy Creek Falls in Swallow Falls State Park last week (10/20/23) This is, just my opinion, the best falls in the park.
Shot with my Panasonic G9 and 14-140 lens probability also with a polarizer installed.
Shot in raw, processed with DXO Photolab 6.

Nice set. There's a lot more class in the old bridge.

True but no reflection. The old bridge was in use for something like 130 years. Today one can walk across it but no cars allowed, It is now a state park. The new bridge was probable built in about 1930.
Above "facts" based on my memory which may be suspect.
