When I go out I instinctively go wallet, cell, keys with my hand. My wife makes fun of me but on occasion I have forgotten the cell and I turn around and go get it. A sign of old age but very important. I taught my 2 grandsons to drive and told them the first order of business is NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT YOUR CELLPHONE.

Seven workers filling pot holes on the bridge went into the water and have not been found. The bridge was closed just before impact when an SOS was sent from the ship otherwise it would have been much worse.

I recently offered a FX zoom and an extension set on UHH. Both in primo condition. No takers. I then went to my local camera shop and got a quote for the lens which was identical to B&H. Since I am a LONG time customer of theirs I asked if that was the best they could do. I was purchasing a Z zoom to replace the lens. They upped the trade in price by $25. I had also contacted KEH about the lens and got an estimate which was inflated. Long story short, I took the deal with my local shop and am satisfied. The extension set I gave to a former employee who shoots mirrored Nikon and we both were very happy. If you are lucky enough to have a long term relationship with a local shop they will usually try to please you. I had purchased the FX zoom from them used couple of years ago.

Don't you listen to the news? The new law requires reporting to the IRS if you sell more than $600 per year. Businesses get to take their cost into account lowering their net profit. No so for the sale of things by the little guy, income based on the "sold" price. I wonder if the site fees and shipping costs come off the "sold" price?

My main beef with eBay is that I have not crossed the $600 threshold no matter how they calculate it. There is no reason for them to hold my money. I certainly will NOT be selling anything additional this year.

I just sold an item on eBay and got a notification that they needed my full social security number to report to the IRS because I had sold more than $600 for the year. I reviewed my transactions on their site and I had not approached $600 in sales. They have recently instituted a policy of paying through your bank account. I was very unhappy with that but had no choice at the time. In previous years I used PayPal. Never a problem. I chatted with 2 of their reps - first one hung up on me - the second said I did not need to supply my social. Now that item has sold I get a red letter message that they want my social again. These companies are so big and so arrogant that they can do what ever they want. I just want my payment. Be careful.

I hope this question has not been asked before, I hate facing the wrath of those people with photographic minds that remember every post ever made on UHH, but here goes. I like using a lens hood on my lenses. When using a CP filter, it is rather difficult, if not impossible to adjust that filter without taking off the lens hood, adjusting the filter, then replacing the filter. Is there a better way of doing it without taking off that hood? I realize I am not the brightest bulb on the tree, so please spare the ink in trying to prove to me how stupid I am, thanks in advance!
I hope this question has not been asked before, I ... (show quote)

I have encountered the same problem and the simplest solution is to get a screw in lens hood and simply screw that into the filter.
