Just remember, the late Atheist and evolutionist Christopher Hitchens spoke about the evidence of evolution yet he held NO scientific degree or training. I guess he must not have been qualified to preach on evolution as well right? Even though he got his rear handed to him by Dinesh D'Souza in their debate.

You obviously did not even watch or listen to this video in it's entirety and probably not even partially. Did you even watch this, or at least attempt to watch it?

I find it ironic how you feel someone without a scientific degree can speak "...about the evidence of evolution..." yet what does it take to become a preacher (especially fundamentalist)? Just the desire to spew out dogma. Even children (ie 'Jesus Camp') are able to preach at the same level as any adult. Just babbling...

Actually both the scientific 'reasoning' and 'evidence' exist together- not independently, along with hypotheses, theories. All of which can be revised. 'Faith' and 'science' are completely different animals, however. I would love to see the scientific 'evidence' for 'creation.'

Of course scientific "reasoning" alone should be abandoned, but scientific "evidence" should not be abandoned. We Creationist support real scientific processes that produce true evidence in context. Atheist seem to misrepresent Creationist by saying the Atheist are the only ones that support science, which is not true. Science is actually on the side of Creationism by it's own scientific findings the past 100 years.

So the age of the earth is just an illusion? Scientific evidence is just planted? There is so much scientific evidence that conclusively proves not only the age of the earth but the impossibility that man walked with the dinosaurs. Your stance is really weak.

I don't believe that's his point. He was stating that God could have planted that to make it LOOK like it's millions of years old. My question here is 'why?' You want your creation to believe in you-or be sent to hell- but you do everything to confuse and accomplish the opposite!

We are a Christian Nation as opposed to a Shinto, Islamic, Hindu, or any of the myriad of religions. There doesn't have to be the word God in the Constitution for that to be the case. The words atheist, agnostic, and evolution don't appear either. You are hung up on a small technicality that makes no sense. Come up with a better challenge, one that has merit.

Of course 'evolution' wasn't in any of it because it was advances in science that brought it to our attention! An theory for many of the mysteries not understood at the time.

A torrential afternoon rain doused the Smokies and heavy fog and mist filled the air. As I drove to the Morton Overlook I wondered if there would be a sunset worth the 30 mile drive.

Congratulations on your EM-1. I also bought one several weeks ago and my head is spinning with options, sub-options....Bought David Busch's book and, while it's ok, I would like to find something more. Almost made the mistake of taking Olympus up on their offer to buy their DVD on the camera- until I read the reviews. Can't believe that such a great camera has such poor documentation/ resources available. Will look up the other author mentioned above to try that book out. I'm a newbie and i don't mind a 'dumbed down' version to start with the basics!

Thanks for the input! I think I'll contact Lifepixel and go that route. I have seen a few bad things about Spencer's and their site doesn't have much info. Not true with Lifepixel which is loaded with info. Mechengvic- I am hoping that the lack of AA filter will help. Still a little overwhelmed with the info and possibilities. Sueyeisert I will call your contact at Lifepixel when ready. DavidPine the archives are a wealth of info as the topic really seems to have limited interest. Thanks all-

I WENT TO THE IR ARCHIVES ON THIS SITE BUT HAVEN'T FOUND THE ANSWER. I JOINED THIS SITE A WHILE BACK REGARDING WHICH CAMERA TO BUY- HAVE DECIDED ON OLYMPUS OMD-EM1. HAD FINANCIAL ISSUES BUT AM ON THE BRINK OF PURCHASING. NOW MY PLAN IS TO GET ONLY 1 CAMERA TO COVER AS MANY SUBJECTS I WOULD LIKE TO PURSUE. ONE OF THEM BEING IR (AND ASTRO PHOTOGRAPHY). WHILE BROWSING THE WEB THE OTHER DAY I CAME ACROSS 'SPENCER CAMERAS' THAT SELLS NEW CONVERTED CAMERAS TO YOUR SPECS WITH MANY OPTIONS (AS WELL AS CONVERTING YOUR OWN). IS BUYING THE CAMERA CONVERTED A GOOD IDEA? I ALSO WANT TO DO CONVENTIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND DON'T WANT TO ALTER A CAMERA THAT WOULD ADVERSELY AFFECT THIS. THANKS IN ADVANCE...

Religious OCD: 'I'm going to hell'

A form of obsessive-compulsive disorder known as scrupulosity is a fear of sin or punishment from deities characterizes this condition.

Jonathan Abramowitz, professor and associate chairman of the department of psychology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill says OCD with religious obsessions is called scrupulosity. St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of Jesuits, and Martin Luther may have suffered from the condition. Exposure therapy helps patients face uncertainty.

OCD makes you think in black and white. There are no gray areas. Clean or not. Good or bad. There's nothing in between.

OCD, BY DEFINITION, IS DEFINED BY UNWANTED/ INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS (IE SINFUL) WHICH THE SUFFERER PERFORMS RITUALS (HOLY WATER, PRAYING ETC) TO ALLEVIATE ASSOCIATED ANXIETY/ FEAR. I DO NOT BELIEVE RELIGIOSITY IS TRUE OCD, HOWEVER, BUT IS PERPETUATED BY THE SAME REINFORCEMENT/ REWARD CYCLE. "MAGICAL THINKING" IS A COMMON WAY OF DESCRIBING THIS USAGE OF RITUALS.

How many are killed in auto accidents involving a drunk driver? We should have a law that makes it illegal to drive drunk....oh wait! We already have one!

Get the point? Laws are absolutely worthless for criminals. If guns were illegal do you really think there would be no more guns? Guess who would have them?

To me it's not too difficult to see how creating "knee jerk" laws quickly become burdens on the law abiding citizen though increased enforcement costs that in most cases are pretty ineffective.

What do you mean we have a law against using non-prescription drugs? So what's your solution? Eliminate the laws?
