I have tried that …many times. Do you think it could be a camera problem? I am getting blurry photos with horrible light…Tried each of the white balance settings and changed the shutter speed slower and faster. So frustrating. Thanks for your help.

I think I know what to do in low/bad light conditions….bump up ISO, faster shutter, bounce light….but lately my photos have been terrible…worse than usual. Am I losing it, or could it possibly be my camera. I have a Canon 50D but it is over 6 years old. Thanks.

I currently upload photos to Aperture, edit them, and then send them to Smugmug site for viewing by family, friends etc. Up until now, I have loaded the photos on an external drive connected to my PC (not Mac) so I didn't lose them. What I want to do is to add an external drive to my MAC, load photos on it, edit them in Aperture, and return them to external drive. I don't want to store anything on Aperture because it uses up so much space and i ran into problems with that before. I know there is a "vault" on Aperture, but I don't want to use that. Thanks for all your help...computers are not my thing! (obviously)

Michael,
Thanks for the quick reply....I am not very computer savvy so bare with me...first of all, is there a certain kind of external drive you use? For dummie me, can you explain...if I plug in an external drive, the photos can be loaded into the drive from my camera, right? Then if I import those photos into Aperture and edit them, how do they get from Aperture to external drive? Do I need to export them there? Then they have disappeared from Aperture? I am sorry I am not understanding this. What I normally do after editing, is move my edited photos to Smugmug. But they remain on my hard drive in Aperture. ???????? Thanks, Michael.

We have discussed this a little bit on here but I am still confused. If I store my photos on an external drive, and then put them into Aperture for editing, how do I permanently delete them from Aperture? Putting projects into trash doesn't seem to remove everything (masters, versions etc) and I am still running out of space. Thank you....frustrated in St. Louis.

Deleting photos through Apeture is done on the Library tab. Drag and trash. You can also drag and trash in the basket on the bottom toolbar. You can delete multiples by clicking on the outside / left side and holding the click down and dragging across and down to highlight the photos. Then drag to the trash folder to the (on my setup is on the left.) when you are finished you can empty the trash folder from the Apeture tab at the top.
Hope this is clear enough to follow!

Seems to me, they are still hiding in there somewhere...still don't have enough space. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Just went through this. I had to purchase a larger hard drive for my apple. To delete the photos will not help.

To do that, do you use the Aperture vault? Thanks.

Aperture is giving me error message that I do not have enough space to download the photos I am trying to download. ??? I would be happy to delete the photos I have on there because I have them backed up on external drive but I do not know how to delete everything. Can someone help? Thank you.

I have downloaded them but can't figure out how to get them to a folder..nothing seems to work. ( as I normally would do to make a folder of downloads). In other words, it is not letting me save them to anywhere...or I don't see how to do it.

Someone sent me some raw photos thru Google Drive for me to do some editing. After I downloaded them, I couldn't figure out how to get them into Aperture for editing. Even if I knew how to get them into file folder on my desktop, would help. Losing it over here....can someone please help me?
