My lens is the Tokina SD 16-28mm F2.8 (IF) FX ATX Pro. It is a great Wide Angle lens. I use it on my Nikon D810 and the D750 FX cameras. The downside of the lens, of course, is the weight, but for a F2.8 lens, that's common. It is as heavy as my AF-S 28-300mm lens.
Although it is not a serious shortcoming, this Tokina lens will not auto focus in the LCD Movie or Camera view mode when cameras are set to the AF-C setting. (That is the continuous focus tracking without depressing the shutter release.) The Nikon AF-S lenses all work in this mode, which is a real bonus when taking video.
I was doing a walking video through a senior living condo and had to keep pressing the shutter release half-way to keep the lens focusing. Had to change over to my Nikon lens.
I've owned the Tokina 11-16mm and also the Nikon 10-24mm, both DX lenses, but switched to FX lenses.
Bottom line: I like the Tokina lens and certainly plan to keep using it.
I have the Nikon D810 and the Nikon D750 Cameras with several Nikon lenses. I also have the Tokina 16-28mm FX Pro Wide Angle lens. Recently I was attempting to use the Tokina lens for video using the camera in the LCD viewing/focus option, and I discovered that it would not auto focus when the camera(s) (either of those above) were set to the AF-C (Continuous) setting. However my Nikon lenses, the AF-S 24-120mm, the AF-S 28-300, or other Nikon AF-S lenses all worked just fine. That is, in the AF-C or AF-F mode, when set to either Camera or Movie mode, the focus would follow, without touching the shutter release button,.... would follow as the camera was moved around.
Now, one source tells me that the Tokina lens does not have a small chip next to the lens contacts and it does not send all the information to the camera.

Any thought about having gone with the Sony mirrorless instead?
Well, yes, I did consider the Sony A7r series, but it seems they are coming out with a new version about every 3 to 6 months. I'm wondering if they are still trying to get it right; kind of like the auto industry.
Actually, I have a few Nikon lenses that I can use with the Z6.
I'm thinking I might need to chunk the whole lot of them, cameras and all, and get me a Kodak Brownie.

I'm not a professional. I recently upgraded my Nikon D750 and purchased the Nikon Z6 with the 24-70mm lens and the FTZ adapter. I still have several Nikon, Sigma, and Tamron full autofocus lenses I use on my D610 Nikon, and I can use them with the FTZ adapter on the Z6. However, mounting the Nikon AF-S 28-300mm G lens with the FTZ on the Z6 is pretty unwieldly, and heavy. Further, I'm not totally happy with the skimpy selection or the cost of the new Nikon Z lens coming out. I do see several Sony e-mount lenses that I would like to try, and I am considering purchasing the (full autofocus) Techart TZE-01 (for about $225) to mount these lenses to my Z6. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this.
Thanks.

Really don't know the weight limit. Lost guide long ago. I would guess 25 to 30 pounds easily.

Yes, the white color does attract attention, but for those who know cameras, so do the features of this model.

Final Post here: Received the new 24-120mm F4 lens but had already decided to buy the 28-300mm. So, will decide if I keep or sell the new 24-120mm. Yikes, this hobby is wrecking my allowance.

I rejected Nikon's offer to repair the lens and opted to purchase a new one for an additional $423.32 plus $156 cost of repair to trade-in lens.

Hi,
Yes, it is a great DX lens and worked well on my FX D750 camera. However, I wanted a full-frame lens, so bought the Tokina 16-28mm, which is almost twice as heavy as the Nikon 10-24mm.
Lens is in mint condition; like new, used 8-10 times. Comes with lens caps, UV Filter, protective bag, and original packaging/Box. Sell for $475. Paypal
