Very nice, but do you leave the plastic container all your seed holders to get the birds to one side or another. At least that is what it looks like. If so, nice idea!

Oh....I thought you were going to go in Photoshop and take it out and leave the rest of the chairs, that's what makes the photo.

Hi,
I do like the photo and for my own taste I would crop it out and also the thing on the wall just above the chairs. I like the ailment and think if I was doing that shot I would have used a longer exposure just to make everything that little bit more in focus. We all have things we have to work on and I think your doing good. I think this photo would look good in a panorama type photo to give it a lot of depth. Just a though if you plan on keeping it.

Very nice job, I like the last photo, it looks like there's more to the sun rise then there really is. Not a ripple anywhere. The colors pop and would want me to sit and watch this for hours even though it lasted a minute or two.
Great job, beautiful site you have but you made the photo.

I like the spacing below the chairs and above being about the same, but the plant halfway down or so was distracting to me. It would have cleaned it that little bit more that it needed. Other then that it looks well done. Black and white worked nice, how did it look in color, the naturally way?

Larry,
Like it! Love the out of focus behind the Pika and that you got a shot with him running showing no hind legs. Very well done in my opinion.

I like the shot. I think I see too much green which is taking over the photo. Love the sun just starting to come through the trees in the back. Love the warmth of the sky, so I think I would crop some of the grass off the front and be happy with this wonderful photo.

I use Hoya filters as well. Your Hoya HD CIR polarizing filter is a good one. I use to use UV filter but not anymore. Found it will dull photos up somewhat. When you take the UV out you are taking some of the blue out so if you are taking landscaping photos the clouds will be duller. I found that a clear filter is the best for me while protecting my main camera lens. Do not buy a cheap clear lens for then you get what you pay for. I tried it once got a great shot of a osprey with a fish only to get a blurred photo, took the cheap lens off took some other photos and have not had any photo trouble(other then my own mistakes) since. This information I passed on from a friend who shoot photos for National Geo. and other top magazines. She has taken photos of presidents to royal families so I take your advice seriously. Hope this helps.

I just got a D7000 and will try the higher end ISO, and when doing so is everyone shooting this in raw? If cropping is needed wouldn't that help? Still learning about this new Nikon I bought and all thoughts are helpful.

I have used ground blind for wood duck to bluebird photos and it works very well. One day I did not want to set blind up so I threw a blanket over my head with my lens sticking out and it worked very well. I was taking photos of woodpeckers and was able to get within 15-20 feet of them. Took about 5-10 minutes for them to get use to the bump but they didn't pay anymore attention to me and back to doing what they do best. Bang their head against trees. Ha... Maybe you can bait them with chickens....wow, best be careful so people may not take that as a joke.

You have Chicken hawks, are they a weary bird or will they give you a chance to get some nice photos. Been a few days and wondering if you got any photos of the bird? How's the new lens working?

It was spring and I had a wonderful shoot that morning. I think we try to over think things at times and the natural shot can also be the best shot. Other then a few things like trying the black background and then cropping, very little was done to this photo. I believe the only thing I did was boost the color by a very little bit. If I remember right it was less then 10.
Thanks for looking it's my first photo I posted and I'm a new member who wants to learn.

The males are much darker with blacker heads and the females seem to be lighter with a little brown in them. I have a nesting pair outside my house and been watching them closely. The color varies from bird to bird. So the slight brown on the back is normal seeing this is a female.
