There are portions of this blog I just spin thru, but I always find "something" of interest. It covers a lot of wide base info and photos, therfore something for everyone. So let's continue to support it in any way you wish.

Shooting one person at a time is a matter of a few practice shots with your digital camera and lighting. The challenge is when shooting several people of varying shades of dark. After many trips to Africa and being associated with a Kenyan charity and shooting groups of different shades is the challenge. Test shots are the only answer. a good PP program is also a big help on the group shots. Good luck.

Death of still photography is all in the eyes of the beholder. Photography can be art or a snap shot. The snap shot will later be a moment in history. Photography will capture a moment, focus your interest on one issue. How can that ever die???????????????

Take the print out side and place photo on a flat surface and in the shade. Use tripod or hand held if lighting is bright enough. No shadows involved. Use PP to take out spots or other boo boos on the originals.

If we camera clicker were all perfect photographers we would not need any PP...but a few of us have not reach that level. LR was designed for photographers who are in this classification. I have been with LR 3and 4 and do plan to upgrade to 5. Many believe the cost is fair and some do not and it all depends on your passion to for fixing your errors. I will pay the price if you have question or not that interested in the product ..well do not buy it.

Keep on clicking....if not now when????????????????

That is always a great trip. I have approached it from a LA starting point and am always amazed at seeing the same sites but always different in lighting etc....
I am also an AC from anti-sub patrol crew on P5M..which means I am really old...but still moving and vertical...for now.

I have been to Kenya and have several black white affairs under my photo belt and it is all ways a challenge. Multi shades of black to white is gamble. Take you best guess and revise to suit your taste and skills.

Ziza, I have seen this before and agree it's a good start. You have to reach your own comfort level with shotting "strangers" in the open. As in most photography practice practice.....................
