The first butterfly is a Milbert's tortoise shell; the second, an American painted lady.
Nice photos! Strix.
A classic! Congratulations.

Yesterday my well used, almost nine-year old lens wouldn't focus properly. It was constantly search, and the barrel of the lens emitted a loud clanking sound as it searched, focusing in and out without locking onto the stationary subject. Today it hadn't "fixed itself". Anyone have a similar problem, and how was it corrected.
My thanks - Strix.
Looks more like a golden-crowned sparrow...

Exceptional photos! You've done them justice. One of my 'bucket list' birds to photograph, that I'll probably never be lucky enough to. Congrats!

Nice photo! Easy to see why the old name for the peregrine was the 'big-footed hawk'!!

In the NE LP, Sturgeon Point (Alcona County) and the New and Old Presque Isle Lighthouses might offer good photographs...
Good Luck - Strix.
Not being able to see where the photo was taken makes ID more difficult. I am leaning towards a rusty blackbird.

Nice set! The unstreaked breast of the prey rules out a song sparrow. A northern mockingbird is much larger than what is being eaten. Best I can come up with is an American tree sparrow.

A tough little guy to identify from your picture. Was he about the size of the common chickadee, and have a longish tail? My money is on a wrentit (yes, there is a bird with that name!).
Not 100% certain, though, with just a frontal view.

Your "common yellowthroat" looks more like a northern parula....
Nice photos!
