I have been using Nikon DSLRs for quite a while, and have never heard of anyone pressing the buttons accidentally, while taking a photo. Suggest you stop worrying about such an event ..... relax.

UV filters are used primarily for protecting the lens. I believe you should remove the UV filter when you have to use a polarizer or other type of filter.
