I am thinking buying the D600 but does the menu buttons on back of the camera on the left side ever get push on accidently during a shoot and it changes with out you knowing about it? is it a issue or am I looking for one?Hope someone has a D600 and says it is not a issue, as I do like the camera and will pick it up soon, Thanks

Lenny, Go for it!! My bet is you'll view this concern as unwarranted. I've never accidentally changed a setting in the method you describe.

Typically, my right hand is on the grip, finger on the shutter release. My left hand is on the lens. Always, when I'm shooting.

Never been a problem Lenny. Nearly all Nikon DSLR's have these buttons and I have never heard of anyone having a problem with them. Agree with Bruce- unwarranted concern. Enjoy your D600! ;)

Not yet. I think having the Menu screen light up would get your attention. You would then have to select an item to change. It's not something I've ever worried about.

It just look like different at a glance, and said to myself oh oh is this going to be a issue, as I do like the FX and the price that I can afford.

I've had one a while and while I did send it back last spring for a sensor clean due to spotting it's been clear since and I am very pleased with the results. Great camera for the money. Who was that guy who said, "I am going to retire from this business and never open or touch a camera again after 40 years" :D :D :D

I've had the D600 since last December and absolutely love this camera. You'll soon appreciate having those handy buttons for making quick changes to your settings. As Jerry said, the back screen lights up when you hit one. Once the screen lights up, in order to make changes to your settings, you'll have to then toggle or use your command dial(s).

There is one button that might have you befuddled if you hit it accidentally; it's the one with the question mark and what looks like a key for a lock. If you hit that button while you're scrolling through your photos, a little key will appear on the top left of the photo and you won't be able to delete it. (That key option is a really good thing if you don't want to accidentally delete your favorite photo of Great Aunt Martha.) To remove the lock, simply hit the ?/key button again.

I've been shooting with a D600 since it came out last year and have yet to run into that problem.
