New User here. Stumbled on this site, while reading about digital photography. Geezer here (almost 90); knew enough about "taking pictures" to be called "mere amateur". Had good luck with Canon A1, complete with several lenses, long time.
Several years ago decided to get with the program, gave my stuff to Lincoln College Fine Arts Dep't. and made mistake of not staying SLR. Bought Canon Power Shot.....fine for what it does. Have decided that our traveling daze are not over; NOW in process of selecting an SLR.
THIS is too long, but I wanted to set background.
$$$$ will be a player in my decision...will stay in the "up to $700" range.
Currently taking hard look at -- SONY - Nex5N. size appeals and "think" it has plenty of features for my needs.
