To narrow it down, choose a static subject - truly static, not just stationary; use a solid tripod and switch IS off; use Live View MF to eliminate any AF errors. Also shoot in good light at a low ISO speed. If you can get good results in those conditions, you know it's not an image quality issue with the lens or the TC.
Then with the same setup, go back to AF and check the microadjustment both with and without the TC.
Ian: Once again you have out done yourself. This is a great image. You are very talented.
Mike: What a great question. I was given a camera when I was 10 years old and haven't looked back. That was in 1956. I was taking photo's of anything that would stand still. Lucky me I was drafted by the Army in 1966 and became a combat photographer. They gave me a Nikon F and a 4x5 Speed Graphic and the rest is history.

For sale Jan 22...lots of interest from several...and still for sale on July 9? Very odd.
What is really odd is people like you. To make a comment like you did. Check me out, I have had over 500 transactions on e-bay and Pay pal using the same name I use here on this site. Just type in Large format at either site and you will see that I have a 100% rating. Have a very nice day.
Yes I accept Pay Pal. If you want to know about any of my transactions, check e-bay or Pay Pal. I have had over 500 transactions using the same name Largeformat that I use on this site. All transactions are rated at 100%.
Everything is listed in the photo with the price.
Interesting thread, I shot 8x10 & 4x5 for years. I studied with Ansel Adams and John Sexton is a friend. The only reason I quit using those formats was my age. I really miss using the larger camera's. Digital has not replaced these large formats, although digital has come close to medium format. Autofocus has really helped me to make sharp images if used correctly. Digital is great to use, but I am glad that I grew up in an age of film and processing your own images in a darkroom. There is nothing more exciting then looking at an image coming up in the developing tray or looking at a 8x10 transparency on a light table. Nothing is sharper if done correctly.
Bob: Welcome to the site. I really liked your 3rd shot. Thanks for sharing.
Yes the flash is still available.
Joan: I have this lens and love it. It is tack sharp and has great contrast like all canon L series lens have. I use the lens on a 7d and a 5D MarkII. I hope this helps in your decision making process.
Hi: I am not interested in your lens, as I have one and love it. I was curious why you are changing brands?? Humor me and drop me a PM.
