Yesterday I grabbed my Sony a7r for a walk around the neighborhood to see what I could find. Checked to see if I needed a battery, it didn't come on. I tried a new battery and it still didn't come on. I just used it a few days ago and it performed great. Any Sony users out there with suggestions? Thank you in advance.

How do you go about changing the setting so it doesn't convert the file to DNG?

Most of my photography is travel photo shoots. Mostly I use the kit lens which is an EFS 18-135 mm zoom lens. I rarely enlarge anything larger than 7” by 10”. I have published several books using Lightroom 6 software. Been generally very pleased with the results. My question is would I get noticeably better quality of photos if I switched to a more expensive camera body and a higher quality lens? New to this website and this is my first post. Steve

Years ago we were vacationing on San Juan Island and I had my Canon 60D with 18-135 lens. I photographed some eagles feeding in a meadow and this is one of the pictures. Loved that lens! Check out my profile, (saparoo) go to "Eagles of San Juan".

I have a trip planned to Alaska in July 22. I’m taking a Nikon D5600 with a Tamron 18-400 f3.5. -6.3 lens. I have a flight around Denali at 7:00 pm scheduled, will I have enough light for the lens? Should I get maybe a prime lens in the range of 18 to 24mm and about f2.4? Any othe advise appreciated!

This was taken when my Husband took a flight around Denali in 2015. This was about 12:30am. We were lucky, while we were there, there was almost no cloud cover, which is not the normal. In this shot, the area between the two rock formations, just before the curve, is approximately a mile in distance. That is what the pilot told him. He took the photo with a Canon 60D and probably 18-135mm lens. We stayed at the Lodge for a week and had a wonderful trip. Hope the weather is as beautiful for you as it was for us!!! Look forward to seeing your pictures.

Maybe a bird of some kind in the water. Looks like wings above the water with the body in the water.

Beautiful photos! I also got their email and planning to go today. They always have such beautiful plants. Fall is my favorite time of the year to visit.

This week's challenge is about water - any form. We started the summer with a drought and Maine has almost caught up to "normal" levels. Huge reservoirs at record lows. Post your water pix - the beauty, power, and even the destruction it can bring. Meanwhile I'll have a cold ice water and be grateful for water suitable to drink and water to enjoy. It only takes a drop. Drip, drop, dripdrop.

Last week I did a day trip to Georgia/NC mountains looking for waterfalls....
