AMEN on that. The only reason we use shootproof is to get additional sales from an event. Even with 2 shooters/computers/printers, and 2 people helping guests, we've run out of time trying to get everyone their photos at the event. At that point, we appologize, and give them cards. Unfortunately, we never sell many after the fact, but while people are "in the moment" they buy and buy and buy. Nobody ever purchases anything larger than 8x10 or at best 11x14's online, but let them come to see you, or bring examples of 16x20s and 20x30's, and they sell themselves. It also helps just to add, do you need any for family? BOOM! more sales. Online takes the emotion out of it.

Well, that's a little harsh since you know NOTHING about what I do, nor how I work nor anything else regarding this particular need. Obviously this is the first time this particular situation has come up after YEARS for me as I'd be previously well aware of the services available.

Keep your nasty attitude, I just asked for ideas of where this could be done. Your smug attitude gives us all a bad rap. Sheesh

Snapfish allows for private albums to be viewed via invitation only. And one may order prints.

I need to be able to price the prints so that I get a commission on my work. So Snapfish won't work. Thanks though.

I am aware of cloud storage sites but they don't support the purchase of prints. I also know of others sites where anyone can buy prints of your photos but I need a site where the photos are not publicly shared.

I shoot some boudoir type photos and I'm looking for a web site where clients can see their photos and buy prints directly without the photos being shared publicly. They would have to have the link or even a login & password to get to their photos.

Anyone know if the New York Institue of Photograhy is worth the 999.00 I am thinking of taking a refresher course to catch up on digital photography, I have a graphic arts degree and would like to get up to date what do you think, and are there others out there who you may think better to learn from

Yes, its worth it. But if you send for info and don't enroll within about 30 days they will send you a DEEPLY discounted offer IF you pay full tuition or 2 payments. Its worth waiting for the discount!

I have an Epson Stylus Photo R3000 which does a really good job printing most of the time. However, I printed some black & white photos converted with the Topaz BW plugin in Photoshop and I notice a slight green tinge on the prints. I'm using Epson Ultra Premium Matte. If I add about 10% sepia toning, the pics are fine. I assumed I would have to use the colour setting because of the introduction of brown in the sepia. Usually I always leave it on that setting but the quality BW setting still produced the green tinge. Anyone know why cool black & whites might be printing slightly green?

Actually many clone "black" inks are a very dark green, blue or blue-green. Are you using Epson brand inks?

This is the one I voted for and it took 4th place so I'm happy with it. Thought all the winners were nice shots and adhered to the theme............

Yes, I agree - thats a good shot, I like that one too and it conforms to the intent but didn't follow the other rules..

I'm just saying, if the rules say you MUST do something and you don't then the entry should be disqualified as the rules state it will. If this is about learning and the experience and not necessarily the technical aspects then we learn nothing when those requirements aren't followed.

I'd even be OK with a panel of judges selecting winners otherwise contest integrity and purpose get thrown out the window and it turns into a popularity contest like American Idol.

I don't mean to upset anyone just wanted to ask why the rules aren't followed.

Which photo was your favorite? This was mine.

Sorry to disagree that the photo above should have won because I have 25 just like it of my Great grand-daughter and don't think it's anything special.

I didn't say it was my favorite, I was using the contest intent of low-angle and number of votes that were cast. I was not saying that I considered this the best photo. I do not. Also it shouldn't matter how many you have just like it... that doesn't mean it's not a good photo nor technically correct nor that it didn't meet the contest criteria.

Cheers

While all are, as others mentioned and voted, great shots in their own right, I believe only the last one shown here is truly a low-angle shot as the contest intended, and should have won 1st place. Not because I thought it good, but because the contest intent was adhered to and it was the shot with the highest vote count with that intent in mind.

In addition, why have contest rules if they aren't adhered to when judging? I'm sure you'll all correct me if I'm wrong, but the rules say:

"everyone needs to submit a statement with their photo that explains the ‘who, what, where, why, when or how’ they went through to get it."

"Photos MUST include statement as noted above."
(the contest moderator capitalized "must" - not I)

That said, in review of the shots that followed the rules and the number of votes cast for those few, this is the pic that should have won -

Things to do with old camera lenses:

* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsEQJ2JzXxo
* Sell
* donate to 2nd hand store
* Adapt to DSLR
* as you suggested - make a tilt shift lens
* An expensive ant/worm solar fryer
* or see the attached pic

just don't trash them...

WOW. Not much else to say unless you've got an extra 60 grand laying around.
