I am interested in buying a drone to use for exterior real estate photography. But, there are so many different types that I am getting a bit overwhelmed by it all. I am wondering if there is any one type of drone that best suits the needs of a real estate photographer.

I have a couple of thoughts/questions and would really appreciate any feedback or thoughts that anyone can offer.

I am under the impression that a quadricopter is the way to go...at least for ease of flying and stability, both of which are extremely important to me. Would you agree?

I really want to be able to shoot quality still photos as well as video. Does this effect my selection process?

After looking at a lot of different options, it seems to me that most vehicles either come with a built in camera, or they come with some sort of a mount for something like a Go Pro. Any opinions as to which type of system is superior?

Finally, I would really like to get something in the $1,000 to $1,500 dollar range. Any specific brands or models that anyone can recommend from their own experience?

What I found interesting about this report when I first read it was the clear and obvious DOF difference between the Full Frame Nikon and the APS-C Pentax, the full frame clearly has much less DOF.
The difference in color representations are due to the totally different ways the two cameras process JPG images, this is nothing more than software and each can be internally modified to enhance or detract from the colors presented. The variations shooting in RAW are clearly much different.
Another report I read stated that the K3 is utilizing the same Sony sensor that Nikon uses in its D3200 body, but that masking by the OLPF causes the lower net MP rating of the Pentax.
I do find the in-camera IS system a handy tool when using legacy type MF lenses, of which there are MANY nice examples available at a fair price in the used market. But that the in-camera system is quite generalized and works better at specific focal lengths, whereas in lens stabilization is tuned to each specific lens and optimized for its own characteristics. This is likely why less than 7% of all DSLR and SLR type digital cameras sold today utilize in-camera stabilization and the vast majority use in-lens systems.
Before anyone decides to jump on me for being a Nikon user, I do own a Pentax K5 and do like it, but Pentax is still far from the be-all, end-all Nikon/Canon sales killer.
