Pentax cameras and lenses
They are the best around. Pentax 67 is unparalleled.
Hey! I'm with you, but I don't get why this camera maker, who invented/perfected slr photography, seems to get the cold shoulder, these days. What's up with that? I love the STUFF, particularly their legitimate GLASS... WOW
Pentax is now owned by Ricoh. Time will tell if it thrives, survives, or fails.

The glass is legit good. Their sensors on the other hand. Lets hope that Ricoh does a good job.

Up, I guess you don't actually have a ??
I started with Pentax Spotmatics in the late 60's. I loved them. Shot them for ten years before moving to Canon.
When I went DSLR about five years ago, they where the first thing I looked at, since they had a soft spot with me. I was really dissapointed. Not because they weren't good, what isn't?
But because there was sooooo little of it.
The last thing I wanted was such a limited availability of resources and equipment, both new, but especially used opportunities.
I don't think that when out shooting, I have actually ever seen anyone using one.
I was quite disappointed.

I've always been a Pentax user, from Spotmatic thru istD and now k-30. Recently picked up a Canon 50D to play with and a few budget lenses, you know I quite like the Canon to use. I have found the display on the Pentax multi coloured and a bit "showy", (can't quite find the right word here) while the Canon seems more "no-nonsense' and dare I say it easier to navigate. Being a hoarder and user of old lenses the IS built into the body of Pentax is a bonus. Although I have to ussume it's working, while on the Canon I can see it working, and arguably being built into the lens it is optimised for the lens. Which leaves me the dilema, for any outing or projest, which system do I take? Just my thoughts, and welcome any comments or questions/corrections. Andrew
my experience is with thwe 645d, great camera and a good selection of lenses.
I have K110D and a K100 and a K100D which I love I started with a Sears (Ricoh)KS Super so most of my lens were interchangeable. You folks have just confirmed that what I need is more practice and book learning for better pictures. I hope I live long enough to get me a K3 And really good lens. Gotta spend my money on something.
My younger brother was a Navy photographer, and for the rest of his SHORT life, he used Canon. He advised me to do the same. When he died, at 32yrs, I inherited a number of canon bodies and some lenses. Many years later, those bodies also, died off. I bought a new a canon eos 30D, and other equipment, but my better quality lenses were Sigma made ( I could never afford L series lenses) all of that was good, but not great, and I bought a PENTAX K-01 mirror-less camera.kinda funky, but still very good photos, so...to use one system, I bought a K-5...Every lens I have for one works splendidly with the other, and I'm loveing it. I have since given all my Canon stuff to my son, and hope that he will take up the photography hobby.
The K-3 looks like a very good Machine, but I'm still lovin my K-5 and new pieces of pentax Glass. Pentax K-5 s can be had for very good prices, and Adorama and B&H sell a lot of great deal, used lenses and bodies....Hold out for the K-3, and come back and tell us of your joy. RJM

It sounds as though you aren't an independant sort of guy.. You wanted the affirmation that others bought Pentax too? and you could get some recognition for pentax use? don't worry, all digital gear is pretty darn good, use what you will, but I kinda kept that soft spot for Pentax, years after my VietNam days with the "Spotmatic"
