hello do yall run denosie before you process your images or do you edit them then run through denoise?

No need denoise (Topaz AI) something you don't plan to use - but nothing goes to that hasn't been through AI

You have a problem there - a pancake lens tends to have a shortish focal length - which (absolutely) distorts features - if that is what you want - OK - but for feature presentation that isn't distorted you are going to have to end up somewhere around 100mm - a 50-55 on a crop frame (Nikon D500) might be about what you want

Hi,

I am new to this. I am used to being the person getting photographed. I modeled for a few years so I love photography. I want to be the one that takes the pictures now and I really could use some pointers on a few things.

Like a good photoshop and how to do a few things with my camera. Anyones help would be appreciated.

Tasha

Go to Amazon and get Scott Kelby's Photoshop guide (there are several) - Photoshop isn't terribly intuitive - but Scott makes it easy

With your D500 advancing the ISO to what you need and then using Topaz Photo AI has worked well for me

Walmart doesn’t like their printers to break - so they lease a good quality printer - IF you send it a good quality image you will get back a good quality print

I personally use a Sigma. 8-16, pared with a Nikon 18-300 (unless I know I will be needing something else)

A bit over two million shots, and (if not on a tripod) always in my hand - I have never put a camera on a strap

When I studied with Ansel Adams he said that the image captured by your camera is only the starting point for creating the image that is in your mind - it is that which should concern you - guys with paint brushes have been doing it for centuries

ISO somewhere around 800, Set on A, f 5.6 or 8 --just check your image on the back of your camera to be sure you are getting what you want - of course with a solar filter till totality

Just use Topaz Photo AI and it will do great - I wouldn't think of working on an image and not using it

The Sigma 8-16 does a great job - keep it level - and easily enlarges to 20x30

Having taken a bit past two million pictures I honestly believe the variables you will introduce by: Not using a tripod, not having a good sun shade (the ones I use cost $450), and by not using a cable release will more than out weigh any difference you are going to gain by what ever brand you are using - as Ansel said "A camera is a box with a hole in it"
