Hello Evadsllim. My dumb question regarding the chart is: Does this pertain to all camera formats or just to one, such as 35mm? Also, is there any lens conversion formula we must use to make this work on digital photography?
...Humbly yours, Ray the novice.

I have found this table to be very helpful when shooting. This provides the focus point in reference to the other variables involved. I hope it helps.
This chart is specific to 35mm and DSLR cameras. For more information, go to http://www.dofmaster.com/charts.html. There are free downloads for windows users. :-D
I had the same idea as Blueeyes. It needed the crop. Lovely capture!
I love lighthouses!!

Replace your lens cap when not shooting. Buy a lens pen to keep your glass clean. Circular filters are overrated.
I've been learning a little about high dynamic range photography. I think that if you had multiple exposures and blended them in HDR, you could not only maintain your mood, but also eliminate a lot of the over saturated light from the window. You would also be able to see the person walking by. You could always fog up the face to make the person unrecognizable. HDR balances the exposures and equalizes the light throughout the dynamic range of all the exposures. I'm just a beginner, but it might be something to look into. Just a suggestion. I believe you could keep that "Noir" feel.
Latourell Falls was the location of one of my first organized shoots. We shot in aperture setting. After this seminar, I was hooked.
These shots are cool! I hope you don't mind but I just wanted to play around with the first one.
Good! I'm making progress. Thanks for the feedback. And thank you Jennifer! I'm flattered!
I have always been drawn to lighthouses. Nice one Loggerbill. I took these last September on vacation.

Some of these can be used as backgrounds when you apply a Gaussian blur to them.
Interesting suggestion. A good reminder to think outside the box. Thanks.
I'm still learning PP techniques and the Neahkahnie Mt. shot is definitely overdone. I processed that one a while ago and I had a tendency to over cook due to inexperience. I'm working on toning it down some. Here's another try.

I was visiting the mountain last year and loved seeing the new life from death. Truly a law of the earth personified. Wonderful shots squirrlo33. The lines of erosion from the run off are really stark. I took this shot trying to show the contrast of life and death.
The reward for climbing Neahkahnie Mountain. :P

Very classy looking work! I love it!
