Latourell Falls

Latourell Falls is one of 7 or 8 waterfalls along a stretch of I-84 just east of Portland, Oregon. some are visible from the road, others require a hike, but all are scenic and make good photo subjects. this was shot with a 5D and 17-35 lens @ 24mm, .8 sec @ f/11. formatted for a 10x20 vertical print...

It's quite a hike to the base for an old fat man like me. Good photo as usual.

thanks, Bob. actually, Latourell is one of the easier ones to get to... it's only a short walk down a paved path. Elowah Falls, on the other hand, is a bit more strenuous... only a mile or so, but it's a steep climb for the first half, and a steep descent for the second! i'm thinking of making a trip down there to shoot Elowah with some autumn color, but with a bad knee and asthma, on top of being generally old and out of shape, i'm gonna have to take it pretty slow... :(

Have you ever been to Silver Falls State Park near Woodburn, OR? They have 11 waterfalls, some of which are an all day hike. I've been to North Falls As well as South Falls.

Hi: I love this waterfall and been there many times. You did a great job photographing it. Please don't be affended, but I remembered the falls with a little more color. I took the liberty with your photo to add just a little more color.

no worries. i'm sure in better light, the colors are brighter. when i was there, it was an overcast day, and the colors were somewhat muted... but your edit looks great!

Go easy on" the best coast remarks." We= (the east coast) just experienced our 1st notiable earthquake recently and I did not like it at all. so be nice or mother nature may get even with you :-D
