Generally, the lighter the tripod, the more unstable it will be, especially on a breezy day. If you must take a light tripod get hold of a bag which you can fill with sand or pebbles and hang it from the central column to bring more stability.

I think you'll find that this will help.

I wouldnt pass on the files unless he buys them from you. Why not have your best images printed, mounted and framed and have him put them up on his walls. Offer the images for sale to his customers with him getting 20% for each one he sells

He gets free decoration for his place and a cut of the sale price. You get a shop window for your images and a reasonable return for your work

It works for me.

I really like the second image.
It needs some work but the foreground brings a lot to the image.
Well done my friend

There are a large number of companies who now use DSLRs for movie making. Technology has advanced sufficiently for this. He was using it in movie mode, just like a standard movie camera. The rail is solely to provide a dynamic effect within the shot as they track left or right.

Its common practice these days

I used the curve tool and then brought in the black slider in levels to bring a little contrast. Where was the original taken, I'll pay it a visit the next time Im in the city?

As well as a hobby, I shoot the occasional wedding where I need 2 cameras. I use a 5D mk iii as my work horse and a 5D as my back up. Before I bought the mk iii, the 5 D was the workhorse. Before that, it was a 20D etc...

As I've moved on the cameras have been passed on to the kids.

This is a lovely shot. Would love a dog like this this but my wife and I are both at work in the day and it wouldnt be fair to the animal. You are very lucky.

Lovely shot

Hello my friend,
Im not sure what you've done but it looks like a small Scotty type dog to me on a slow exposure.

Nice shot, a little ghostly.

Hello my friend,
You have some really good portraits here. The skin tones are good and I like the way you've filled areas that would be in shadow.

Good shooting!!
