I apologize in advance if this posting in the General Photography Section offends the Group I am desperate Husband.

Dana Gross, my wife of 46 years, has just moved from Stage 4 Kidney Disease to Stage-5. At 65, her Kidneys are aggressively failing. Compounding her health issues, she is also a Type-2 Diabetic. We have managed to fight and maintain her at Stage-4 or less for many years without Dialysis, but TIME will have its way. A Transplant would prevent her from beginning Dialysis.

I could go into a heart-wrenching story of her life: her successful career of over 20-years as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, the enjoyment she gets by being with her two beautiful Grandchildren, her loving family, and our enduring marriage.

However, to the point: Dana needs a Kidney donation at Mayo Clinic Phoenix. YES, A BIG ASK. There is a ticking clock in her body; her Kidneys are deteriorating. Your Donor offer can be made by contacting Mayo Clinic Phoenix through their website mayoclinic.org/livingdonor and filling out their questionnaire. Dana and I will NOT be made aware of your contact. Please know that the Mayo Clinic selection process has been created to protect the health and well-being of potential Donors with as much ethical review and care, as received by the Transplant recipient. The questionnaire will ask you to identify your targeted Recipient. You’ve heard the expression: “You have to kiss a lot of FROGS to make a PRINCE.” Perhaps an inappropriate metaphor, but it does take many potential Donors to make a Transplant match. Please be one.

Dana Gross is a worthwhile person to save. She adds to the quality of the world around us. She is a gentle soul and generous spirit.

· Please tell your friends, members of your religious home, extended family, and civic groups about her need. Donations can be handled long distances and her insurance covers Donor costs.

· Please support our Transplant search: mayoclinic.org/livingdonor.

Absolutely. For those Photogs near Arizona... may I recomend THE RED AGAVE Resort in Sedona, Az. Backs right up to Federal Reserve... I have been there multiple times-small cabins and Chalets. Yes, they dont have signed paintings on the wall. But for what it cost to stay at the Princess you could probably double your nightly stays at Agave. Well maintained, stupendously accommodating Staff. One could blow out a bunch of memory cards: wonderful sunsets...lotsa' mountain trails, bike trails, gourmet restaurants in the area and you dont have to pay CABANA FEES. Yes, the Princess is a lovely location...but in this economy and Pandemic... why go to a Resort where there is always someone with their 'handout'. AND FINALLY...these properties do not want UNCONTROLLED PHOTOGS shooting PIXALS as they could be sued for invasion of privacy by a couple who are checking in together...but MARRIED to other spouces. That is the real reason or so I was told ...years ago...by the Manager of a well known Resort!

WITH DUE RESPECT: Is not this the resort that charges a daily 'resort experience' fee on top of the daily room rate. AND then there are the taxes (they do charge city tax and do they also charge 'tourism tax'?)...AND you have a problem with their camera policy? Sir: FIND ANOTHER RESORT!

Thanks for the update...my daughter was married in Sedona 10 yrs ago...been back twice...not recently however...and you are right...they suffer from a highly efficient and successful destination Marketing and PR program. BUT DAMN ITS WORTH THE traffic, congestion, and high cost. Photogs. come in droves... but there are less traffic 'off season' times to go...and I believe August's HEAT may create one of those periods.

In late August, I will have one day to spend at the GC. Where and at what times are recommended for photography?
And, while I'm asking, any recommendations for Sedona would be great.

Thank you

Try getting a cabin at THE RED AGAVE RESORT a petite property which backs up to a Federally Protected Reserve. Wonderful pixel opportunities right at your front door!

There are many great photographers on YouTube. Some of the ones I follow: Mark Denny, Steve Perry, Nick Page, Adam Gibbs, Thomas Heaton, Gavin Hardcastle, Pierre Lambert, Karl Taylor, Nigel Danson. There are more but these are my favorites.

One of the best things I've seen on YouTube is Photography Online which is absolutely awesome. These photographers are based in Scotland and do features on equipment, techniques, processing and even some on film. This online "magazine" comes out the last Sunday of the month but they have had a couple of mid month editions.

All are great sources and even though they are younger than most of us they have some unique ideas and are well worth watching.

I ran across this young man (I am turning 74 in August, suddenly anyone under 60 is given the descriptor YOUNG)...finally having the time to catch up on what was available on photography education on YOU TUBE. Henry Turner is a landscape photog in the UK.

I thought I would share him with the HOGS... his natural enthusiasm and love for what he does is infectious. After 15 wks in our apartment... I found him a refreshing non-alcholic libation.

Couldn't we all use that now. Nice kid....damn, I'm doing it again.

Thanks Stan. Portraits, Landscape. I am not shooting any images of birds, wildlife, fast moving subjects...wait...I lied:
Grandchildren. Steve Perry's ebooks on shooting birds, wildlife should be a premier for Grandparents photographing Grandkids! My images are so much sharper now! From Chi? Ex-Skokie Boy, SIUC Grad. Looking for lite weight solutions... Best, this.

I would appreciate recommendation from the Members on a bracket for my d7100. I have an Induro AX113 to which I intend to attach the matching Indigo BHLS1 Ball head. I have not purchased the Ball head yet. If there is a better combination of head to l bracket for the Tripod.... I am open to suggestions.Thank you.
