Layered clothing is a must, as is rain gear for both photographer and equipment, including a rain cover for your backpack. New Hampshire in October is stunning, beautiful foliage oft juxtapose against snow in the high country. I noticed your location check list mentioned Jackson, I am assuming NH. While the Presidential Range side of the White Mountains is dramatic I would be remiss not to inform you there are far greater photo opportunities in Franconia Notch (Canon Tram, The Flume, The Basin, Profile Lake, Pemigewasset River ....................................,. The coast this time of year offers a terrific chance to photograph migratory birds. When in the Kennebunk Area pay particular attention to the areas within the Rachael Carson National Wildlife Refuge (around Parson's Beach, Mousam River, Back Creek..............................

Thanks really apprecaite the comments. Both the shots were actually taken prior to having PhotoShop back in 2009. Taken with Canon PowerShot S3 IS. I have since purchased CS 5, Adobe Bridge and a Mark 5 III. I am thinking I should have saved the money for a new fishing rod.

Awesome shot. Love the D.O.F., allowing the texture of the clouds to dominate the composition. Do you use a polazing filter when shooting landscapes?

New Hampshire's beauty is certainly year round. However it is difficult no to claim October ''Queen of the Year''. We would welcome questions or comments regarding our photographs.
