Maybe it has identity issues and this is a desperate attempt to fit in with his insect buddies.
Oh yes! - How could I have missed that? She/he seemed quite happy though.
Can an insect glare? I'm sure this one was glaring at me when I took this!
Fantastic images - the ant is my favourite. I love the fingerprint-like pattern on it's head.
Google didn't help me identify this beauty....
These were taken just before lunch arrived (hers, not mine)
Wow - what a fantastic image. - I really have to get into this stacking business.
Could I ask how quickly do you take the images? My speedlight takes a more to cycle with fresh batteries so with a 12 shot stack the subject may have moved.
So my Spanish trip resulted in my first "proper" jumper encounter.
Such a beautiful spider she was too. As I watched her hunting I managed to get a few reasonable images, but then she caught a fly in a movement of quite astonishing speed.
Anyway - These are what I managed to capture before she retreated with dinner.
She was about 12mm with legs. Her pedipalps were incredible!
As shot, cropped and with only a light sharpen.
Fantastic images. Just arrived in Spain with all my kit so I'll be hunting them out here if there are any!
Superb images as always. Aren't they amazing creatures?
Wow, the evolutionary process that created this beauty must have been tough. I think this fellow has had a harder paper round than say, a squirrel.
Great work in good old British weather. Well done, great colours and composition.
What a great capture. Beautiful specimen
