From reading your explanations I think I have been over lighting-- (does that make sense?)

1st. image is overexposed. I have used Elements layers to fix.

We were talking about lighting-- this is overhead lighting that blew-out the pic and gave BAD shadows-- made her nose weird among other things..just bad.

Dria, Unless you were shooting a shutter speed way below 1/15sec. your overhead lighting would not have caused this much over exposure. Was your camera set to Program Mode?
The image does not appear to be too red which would indicate incandescent lighting, nor is it greenish which would indicate fluorescent lighting.
It appears to be lit with strobe lighting that is too hot for your camera settings.

I like the second and last one. The first one looks like it was taken in front of a green screen with a background of the beach added. It just doesn't look real to me.

Trust me everything about image 1 is real. I have never used a green screen, not that I am against using one.

Erbin you know I'm a fan
Great shot and lighting
Natural?
On camera off camera strobe?

Critique away-- always looking to take better pictures!

Ist. picture: Cropped ... Selected highlight area with Lasso Tool and put on separate layer ... "Command U" to darken and saturate highlight area.

On a profile shot a good rule is to not let the nose extend beyond the cheek. A slight adjustment in head or body would have accomplished this idea.

You do very good portraiture posing.

very creative , Can u tell me how did u do the borders for the second and the third picture? Is it on photoshop CS5? I just have photoshop Elements can I do the same?

I use Elements 8. Copy original (control J), Free Transform copy (Control T), Hold down option key and drag any corner to desired size and Click Enter, Use Effects Filters to Bevel and Drop Shadow.
If you want squiggly edge Use Lasso Tool to make shape as desired. Then Effects Filters to your Liking. Just play around and be surprised.

Remember to save altered image using another name (Command/Shift/S)

Hi, as a hobby I love to take pictures. My oldest usually runs from me when I grab a camera but today he let me do his birthday pictures. Normally, he doesn't wear glasses, but for his harry potter costume, of course, you can't be Harry without them. Well, when I got them on my computer I noticed the glare in his glasses making it hard to see his eyes. Suggestions to fix them will be greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Tilt the glasses downward slightly by raising the ear hook about half an inch above the ear. cover with the subjects hair. No one will know the glasses are tilted but you and your subject. This works with flash and natural light outside.

Erbin, I love the shot "at the beach". The lighting is very well balanced with some punch coming from the left side. Have you really used on camer flash? If so, did you use any reflectors? Superb lighting.

This location requires a half mile walk. It is in a bird preserve on the Chesapeake Bay Virginia shoreline. I carry a changing tent and my camera rigged like the picture below.

I fire the flash 1 to 2 stops less than the ambient. Usually the camera is at f:8 @200th. Sec. and my flash is set at f:5.6 or f:4
