Understanding Exposure by Brian Peterson
I highly recommend his books.

The whole
Peterson library of books is worth the investment but start with exposure

Has anyone on the Hog used Arsenal 1 or 2? If so,
what are your opinions of this piece of technology?

I ordered one in the ore sale. I guess al.ost 2 years ago now. They were late shipping it, it only did about 1/2 of what they said it will do. And it wasn't anything you couldn't do with a remote and some exposure changes. It took me a while and a few e mails and they finally agreed to take it back. I have not looked to.see if they made any improvements but If I were you I would skip it.

none, I like larger pixels to collect more light and improve contrast in the photo, I shoot 24mp. 99.9% of the time, Once in a while I take out my old V1 it's 10mp I think, and there is something about the those images that larger MP just don't have.

Thousand Oaks telescope, they have sheets of filter material, in 2017, I used a cardboard box from Marie caleders frozen food, cut a 7 inch long 5 inch tall and i gaff taped the filter in the opening, it was much easier to use then the cardboard glasses. Also you can cut a piece to cover your lens

I agree with others the T6 is a great little camera, I would like a couple more exposure options but the zoom is great and the photos are too. Just get a couple extra batteries I use generic ones they work fine. Because without a view finder you are using the LCD all the time

I am a working product photographer and I shoot 24 mp. Most of the stuff goes on web pages at 1200 px and 72 dpi there is no need for 60+ mp. The clients are happy and gear is paid for

The saint judes note is not really true, between advertising fees and the adorable comfy blanket they will send you as a gift. I know those blankets are dirt cheap we run an embroidery business and we buy our garments direct.

They do great work, I wish they just would stop with the blanket offer.

That graph show the time when everyone wanted to be a professional photographer. We knew it would reverse itself, you canโ€™t stay in business charging 50 to 150 bucks for poto sessions.

I live outside of Utica and we have an 80% chance of having a cloudy day on April 8th there is an eclipse site that shows weather satellite photos for all the areas along the path. The last 2 years we would not have seen it here. Thinking I need to get south of the lakes

Go to Thousand Oaks telescope the have many affordable options you can even by a sheet of solar filter and make your own. I had 2 cameras recording start to end last time one had a filter that cost about 80 bucks with thumb screws to hold it in place, the other had a cardboard filter that you folded to fit your lens diameter. Both worked great

I was in Nashville 2017 you will want to be i the path of totality there is nothing like it, my house is 7 miles from totality but in aril here we have clouds 80% of the time looking back at old weather satellite photos on April 8th. So I am still thinking what to do and where to go. Itโ€™s like 3 pm here so if itโ€™s bad I can drive 5 or 6 hours if need be.

Even though I spent a lot of money on a sophisticated mirrorless camera and lenses, my go-to camera still is a Lumix point and shoot ZS 200. It has a one inch sensor and takes beautiful pictures, which are fine for me as a non-professional photographer.

If I were ever to return to film photography, I would grab my Nikkormat that I bought as an underguate student 50+ years ago and dragged with me during my junior year living in Vienna.

I still shot my nikkormat a few times a year, love it, but it is hard to break the habit of looking at the back of the camera

To save on size they could even have one of those small sod cards (forgot what they are called) for 99% of the people that would be enough. If you are shooting the olympics you would want faster cards but frame rates are getting insane 2 seconds pre shoot then 120 frames/sec. At the end of the day you will have thousands of photos to look through and after a while you will be going through the motion without really looking at the photos, reminds me of HDR days were I took 3shot brackets of everything, it was just a waste of disk space
