Went over to Sanctuary Drive again this afternoon..not sure if this is the same White Faced Heron I photographed there a few months ago.
These shots were taken at 900mm (35mm equivalent) with my D500 and Sigma 150-600mm lens from at least 50 meters (165') away.
I didn't pick it up until I saw the large pic on my monitor but the poor bird looks like it's swallowed some fishing line.
It kept scratching at its face, must be annoying the heck out of it...

Great captures Ron. I love the way the birds plumage matched the colour of the free branches.

Excellent light today so I sat out in the garden by our Lavender bush that flowered a couple of weeks ago. It's a favourite with the Bees. It was just so peaceful sitting there watching them.
I really think they enjoy having their pics taken...
Hand held as usual...

Excellent images as usual Ron.

This was taken on a day that the temperature reached 107 with a heat index of 114. This was a day when you just wished the sun would set quickly.

Great capture Sam. I truly hope it doesn't get that hot here this coming summer.

Can't use my big lens yet but I caught this little guy yesterday.
Just out of the bath and about to leave. Only a short lens heavily cropped with one hand so nothing special but it gave me good laugh.

Well done with one hand Ron. About as good as me with two.
Hope your procedure went well.

Maggie has had enough of the heat and refuses to leave the A/C for a walk.

Love it. Reminds me of how my dog used to lay.

For you insect and spider lovers.

Wish I'd been able to get shots of the iconic large, blue butterflies. What can I say? They weren't willing to pose.

Great set of images, I like them all.

Received from a friend she has this bunch up for adoption. I'm amazed she was able to get all four to stay still long enough for the shot.

Just too cute.

This is a photo of granddaughter Jessie on her last day at home (Thursday) before leaving early yesterday morning to study for a year in France--won't get to see her for a year. She's my photography buddy that I shall miss tremendously. Not a great shot, done with my phone.

Nice shot of a lovey young lady. Hope she does well in France.

I know how you feel. I used to see my grand daughter at least 3 times a week and most week ends. Then the family move to Sydney, 120 kilometres away. Now I.m lucky to see her 4-5 times a year.πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯

Carr Mill Dam is situated north of St Helens town centre, on the A571, in Merseyside. It is the county's largest body of inland water, and offers picturesque lakeside trails and walks, as well as national competitive powerboating and angling events.Photographed a couple of days ago.
