There is no rational way to make these two actions equivalent. "Looking is not the same as stealing." It is just that simple.

I may be supposing too much here, but you do understand that any time you scroll through pages of photos and don't right click and save as, you save the image to a specific folder. Yet at the same time you think "I'm not taking that photo" when in reality you are placing a cookie and marking your history folder in your browser to "take" anytime you wish. You may not, but the option is always there, until you clear your history and delete cookies.

and I still STOLE St3v3M's earth photo. After all he stole it from NASA, so I guess it's ok.

While watching this thread with it's full hilarity and back and forth frivolity I unwittingly just stole St3v3M's earth photo. Sue me. I'm sure, and I've never been any more sure than the following statement.... "Unless old St3v3M was an Apollo astronaut on his way to or return from a lunar landing he stole this photo from a website". OH The HORROR, The Hippocrates strike. BLASPHEMER. How about that you immoral thief?

There are videos available for each program

It has to be used as a plug in. There is a list of software that it will work with on their website

Yes it will work with the JPEG directly from the camera

In fact it will only work with .jpg or TIFF. I tried importing RAW files and it didn't work. After downloading it, I'm able to use as a stand alone program. It even gives a choice of 32 bit or 64 bit program. I have Paint Shop Pro7 and I use Topaz Suite as a plug in program. That may be why it won't "plug in". Is it possible it will work as stand alone is I installed to External drive instead of "C" drive?

I've used Nik and Photomatix Pro5.0.5. I have to say Photomatix has more diversity with each shot for bracketed photos. There are so many pre-selections and then adjustments for each selection, over cooking can always be kept to a minimum. Nik is a stand alone program now. Downloaded it last week and used it to compare with Photomatix.Maybe Photoshop allows it as a plug in. I use Paintshop Pro x7 and have Topaz Labs suite of plug ins. Use both with Photomatix 5.0.5.

I'm still for the time being on Win 7. Isn't there a setting in "computer" for the selected USB port to extract the drive without removing from Windows? A Quick Removal that doesn't allow write caching?

Just once, I made a decent move and sold the Canon 18-55 kit lens and bought the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 fixed aperture OS lens. Fast, sharp and great bokeh. Also sold the Canon 70-200 f/4L without IS and bought the IS version. THAT was a much better lens.

What amazes me is the Technology! In 1976 I was on a detail when President Jimmy Carter came to Baltimore. There was a S.S agent with him who carried a very large suitcase. I asked the agent I was with, what it contained. He told me that the suitcase contained a "phone" that the President could use to contact almost anyone around the world. I now have a cell phone, that fits in my shirt pocket. It can tell me directions to anywhere, the temperature of a specific location, enable me to use the Interweb, make phone calls and captures images with great clarity.

Don't intend to be a smart ass here, but Jimmy won the election in November of '76 and sworn in on Jan. 20th of '77. But I fully agree with technology advancements. Saw first "Lethal Weapon" movie where Danny Glover calls HQ with "portable" bag phone standing on a bridge to get better reception. Duly impressed.

I do a lot of HDR so just some mild CC. The yellow clouds are totally unrealistic and greatly detract from the otherwise very nice image.

That was my impression also. Dynamic range was already enhanced. Yellow clouds tend to distract.

Don't forget this effect (Perspective) is what the eye sees but our brain corrects it for us so buildings etc look vertical.
There some things you can do when taking such shots:
1:Get farther back if posssible.
2:Get higher up
Don't use wide angle lenses (under 50mm focal length)
The effect can be reduced in most post processing but two things happen to the image which can spoil the composition:
A:The image will be cropped in varying amounts depending on the how much the angle is corrected, so you will lose some of the image.
B:If perspective is corrected too much the photograph can look unatural.
Personally I think that some perspective is quite acceptable.

Hey!! Winona. Love the city. Back in 1958 at the age of 10 my father remarried my stepmother from Winona. Many trips there as a child from Syracuse to visit my new family. The bluff area that everyone went to view the city, I think was Sugar Loaf? She told me the story of Princess Wenonah.

Worked for a drug company for 35 years before retiring from them and going to another pharmaceutical firm before finally retiring. The first company got out of the antibiotic business, because of China dumping thousands of tons of bulk cephalosporin on the market and driving the price so low, it cost more to manufacture than sell. When your wages are $3.00 a day you can under cut anybody. If your projected cost values are too high then the communist government can step in and subsidize for you. All R&D has been done by others, so all you need is to steal a formulary. Simple.. I agree that pharma companies are greed driven, and most of the bad press is deserved. Occasionally though a $300 million investment for a diabetic drug may go south because in stage3 trials more than 1% of the test patients died of Diabetes anyway and the FDA stops the trials for you and has the whole stage recur. Upon further review the FDA was wrong and allowed the testing to continue. Is it any wonder it takes 7 years from lab to patient? A lot of the problem is the FDA. Why are so many drugs tested and approved in Europe and Canada in less than half the time as the US? Are their drug agencies not as qualified as ours? I doubt it. I stopped going to a local doctor a couple years ago for a very specific reason. One appointment I had was delayed in the waiting room for a very good looking, well dressed woman sales rep who took up at least a half hour of the doctor's time and kept me waiting for an extra half hour. When I started to look around his waiting room I finally took notice of more than 7 drug stand up posters on all the tables. Pfizer,Merck, Bristol Myers Squibb, Johnson and Johnson were all represented. It looked like an all star team, they were all there. Stopped going for a few years to him. Had to go back for some reason a year ago, and all the advertising was gone. Maybe he got hosed by a sales rep.

Let's see 1998 was a Kodak DC...something floppy.I think DC 250. Then upgraded to the 260 and finally the 290. Think that one was 2MP. Upgraded from there to the weirdest camera on the market at the time. The Sony Mavica DSC something 3.2 mp zoom, circa 2000, that used mini blank cd's to record to. still have a couple of the disks in file cabinet. Did have video capability though. Gave it to younger son, that lost it in a fire. On to Canon G3 that was a huge 4mp in 2002.
