Very nice shots. You might want to crop a bit ( to follow the rule of thirds)

Thank u very much for the advice! I will keep practicing :) ur right it is a hard subject. Very nice to watch the butterflies just dance around from flower to flower! I hope to take some more pictures soon! I will work on macro shots!

This is a good attempt at a hard subject to photograph, especially outdoors. I have gotten a few at a flower show, but as close up as possible makes the best shot (in my opinion). I enjoy seeing the detail in the butterflies, like a macro shot. However, yours aren't macro shots and shows them in what appears to be in their natural settings. I would probably say that I would like them cropped tight and without obstructions that detract from them. Maybe a blurred out background and sharp focus on a cropped butterfly would be the advise I would give you. But, keep shooting these are great starters. Cheryl

Thank u & I will try to apply that next time :)

I especially like the last shot. One thing that I try to do is zoom in as close as possible. A large image of a butterfly really gets positive comments from viewers!

Thank u. I actually tried to crop it as discussed earlier in the post & it didn't look good. I love the edit by llindstrand, that is exactly what I was going for. It was a cloudy day when I took the picture and the lighting was off but the contrast of the sky to me is perfect in the edited version. Many compliments to
llindstrand :)

I think this is a great composition. Don't change that. It does need, for me, more contrast and a color correction toward more yellow, less green but the redo by 14kpphotog is (forgive me sir) a little too much. Somewhere in the middle would be great. The clouds could be given more presence/contrast. I love them almost as much as the flower. Good work.

The sunflower is fine with some slight edits on it. I also did one a complete change in background which I thinks makes a great improvement. I still left it as a sky but one that was a darker blue and more clouds. If you would like to see it let me know and I will post with your permission.

I agree, good angle, but show more or crop more. As it is, it looks like you cut off the edges by mistake.

I don't think the angle is bad. Unusual angles make it an interesting picture. What I would change is to either include the whole flower or crop it closer. These are just my opinion. You are the artist on this one. :)
