It has proven to be an unmitigated disaster since I did so two weeks ago. Power Point has stopped working properly in the midst of lecture prep. This after two weeks of working though not quite as fast.

Wanda's dishwasher quit working so she called in a repairman.

Since she had to go to work the next day, she told the repairman, "I'll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher,

leave the bill on the counter, and I'll mail you a cheque.

"Oh, by the way don't worry about my dog Spike. He won't bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot!

"I MUST STRESS TO YOU: DO NOT TALK TO MY PARROT!!!"

When the repairman arrived at Wanda's apartment the following day, he discovered the biggest, meanest looking dog he has ever seen. But, just as she had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet watching the repairman go about his work.

The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling, cursing and name calling.

Finally the repairman couldn't contain himself any longer and yelled, "Shut up, you stupid, ugly bird!"

To which the parrot replied, "Get him Spike!"

See - Men just don't listen!

My girlfriend and I took this picture today from my cell phone and would really like to enlarge it to atleast a 12x18. Would like to have it framed and would like to take next year's picture holding this picture and continue throught the years holding last years picture. Is there any way to enlarge this without losing quality and without the blurry pixelation? I have photoshop, I know there is a way to enlarge it without losing quality but not sure how to do it.

There is enough detail to print a 12 x 18, however IMHO the photo needs a bit of PP first. The highlights are blown, so the detail is lost. It also is a bit flat, lacking contrast.
What I did was, in Camera Raw.....
Lower exposure and highlights to remove clipping,
Lower blacks and raise clarity to improve contrast and make it "pop" a bit.
I cropped it to 3:2 ratio, then in Perfect Resize, I resized to 12x18 at 240ppi.
Finally, back in Camera Raw I added some sharpening.
My result......

I am currently using PSE10 for basic editing. I am wondering if it is worth upgrading to PSE13 or current release. I have tried unsuccessfully to find a comparison of the two (10 is too far in the past). Can anyone help out? What will I gain by upgrading? Does the current version drop any features I might now be using. Thanks!

I don't know enough about either, but why not download a trial of PSE13 from Adobe and do your own comparison?

I am at a loss to understand why some people buck at paying for post processing software. In the "good??" old days of film you either paid big to a film processing company or bought your own very expensive equipment and noxious chemicals.
The Lightroom / Photoshop bundle is recognised as being the best PP software available, it ONLY costs $10 a month and is always up-to-date! Against the hundreds and thousands spent on cameras and lenses etc. $120 a year is insignificant!

XP Pro????? Dead and gone.... Windows 7 if you really look, beg and plead... otherwise, your gonna be stuck with that crappy Windows 8.1 junk...

What a load of balderdash, Windows 8.1 out performs 7 in most, if not all, respects!
In it's native form its looks different, but you don't need to use the "Metro" interface.
The "Windows" interface is similar enough to Windows 7 that any 7 or 70 year old can learn the differences in a couple of hours.
However, if you're too darned stuck in the past to learn that's your problem.
I'm not going to get into a PC/Apple argument, they both run on the same hardware,
Apple's monitors have a slight edge, but the gap is not as wide as it used to be.
Most people compare expensive Apples with cheaper PCs, if you go for a PC that's priced as high as an Apple the only difference is the OS. So go with your PERSONAL FAVOURITE!
As far hardware is concerned, it depends on what you want to run on your new computer. If, like most of us, you aspire to the Lightroom/Photoshop combo, then IMHO you need at least ....
1. A quad core processor, Intel I7 or AMD A8.
2. A minimum 8GB RAM (more is better).
3. Dedicated 2GB graphics RAM.
4. Storage ...
.....a. a 1TB HDD, partitioned for..
..........i. for OS and programs,
.........ii. LR catalogue/cache,
........iii. Photoshop scratch disk,
........iv. Photograph storage.
......b. a 512GB SSD, partitioned as i,ii,iii above,
..........and a 512GB HDD (external if new computer is a laptop) for photograph storage.
5. IPS Monitor (biggest and best you can afford).
6. DVD R/W, nice to have but not essential.
7. At least one (preferably 2) external 1TB HDDs for backups.

While Eric Burdon's iconic version is the best known, he didn't write it, so it's technically not "the original ". It's actually a traditional folk song.

Sorry, I guess I knew that, I still think the Animals version is far better, Alan Price on keyboards really makes it!
