My daughter researched this topic and bought me a Satechi wireless controller for my Nikon D300. It works fine. I had to call for support because I couldn't see the connector opening on the Nikon--it is practically invisible. That system can be used as either a remote or a hand-held shutter release.

Recently learned--have the room warm when taking infant photos. The babe will be more likely to sleep, or at least not be fussy.
